Exceptional
It's a lovely quiet rustic hotel situated on the river. The staff were lovely the room was very basic but very clean and the food was delicious. Great value for money.

Wonderful
This is a wonderful place for a holiday in Bentota. Location is perfect, right on the water, friendly, helpful staff and reasonable prices.
All good really. It is an older property but clean and comfortable and great value.

The Breakfast was good & enough to start the day. The Manager was very helpful & friendly. He arranged a taxi to take us to the airport at a very fair price. He was also able to let us stay in our room after checkout time for an extra few hours at no extra cost.
The Boat transfer from hotel across to beach, states a price 500 rupees per person per crossing at the reception. We mentioned it said it was free on booking.com. They honoured this and no payment was needed when using the boat service.

Lovely gardens right on the river
The room was not very clean. Cobwebs in the lampshades, dirty toothbrush mug, dust under the bed where I kept my suitcase etc. Staff uniforms were stained and tablecloths were not changed between guests. No basic room amenities provided such as fridge, kettle, or drinking water.

Pleasant
Location is superb with a garden down to the river, but sadly the hotel needs a big cash injection to avoid being left behind. The potential is huge if there is investment in better beds and upgraded bathrooms, and more stylish restaurant furniture. I really hope they can achieve this and then be able to charge more to recoup the costs.

Hotel Hemadan's biggest draws is its location. Right on Bentota River, guests can enjoy stunning views and easy access to boat trips and water sports. The Bentota beach is just a short walk or a short boat shuttle ride away. While not a luxury resort, the hotel's friendly atmosphere, range of amenities, and proximity to the beach make it a great choice for budget-conscious travelers and families. The rooms are simple and comfortable, while the bathroom needs a bit of renovation. Also the Wi-Fi was slow most of the times. Overall, I would recommend Hotel Hemadan to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Bentota.

The owner and his son were excellent hosts with a fantastic group of staff. Nothing was too much for anyone at the hotel during our stay and we were made to feel special guests. The hotel has great views of the lagoon and we had a wonderful breakfast every morning on the jetty. The balcony from our room also overlooked the lagoon allowing us to comfortably relax there. Everywhere was clean and we also had a mosquito net for our bed. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and we were also treated to fresh produce from the garden. The hotel was within easy walking distance of the beaches at Bentota, the bars and restaurants of Aluthgama and the Aluthgama train station. A wonderful place to stay with fantastic hosts. I would strongly recommend a stay at this hotel!

Great people and hotel! Rooms are very nice and clean. Hotel is placed just on the Riverside and close to the ocean. Very good place for stay.

everything !! the best place where we were in Sri Lanka since one month cozy, quiet, professional staff family running the place they are very kind, helpful friendly and discret the place is convenient ,peaceful, beautiful, at 3mn by walk to the beach strategic place to discover the beautiful region idéal place for rest and also for the very delicious cooking Simply the best !!
