The location is very good, spacious rooms, quiet place to unwind, staff was friendly and attentive, breakfast tasty, pool clean, direct access to the beach. Sunbeds are also good. Highly recommend
If you pay with card, make sure that you pay in Dollar or Rupies, because otherwise there will be a 6,99% Currency Conversion Fee, which we, after noticing got back
AC could be a bit quieter but no big deal

Beautiful villa with great garden at the beach; good location to calm down before/after airport transit. Staff (cook, driver, waiter) were very friendly; spacious room with modern interior.
While villa was beautiful, it lacked a bit of soul; villa owner/central manager didn't show much hospitality that we were somewhat used from other Sri Lankan locations;

I would love to give a 20/10, if I could. This place is absolutely fantastic for its price. The staff was so kind and friendly and served us breakfast and dinner on our balcony. The food was fantastic as well. They also have a tuktuk driver to bring us anywhere we wanted. The room was very clean and spacious. The location was quiet on a lonely, white sandy beach with perfect views on the sunset. There are also restaurant and bar options around the area and the accommodation offer a Madu River safari for a great price.
We had a fantastic time and highly recommend this place, if you're looking for an authentic place in paradise.

The house is pretty. I especially enjoyed the balcony and sitting room with great views due to the beach front location. You can watch the amazing sunset right from your room. There is a swimming area close by (at the rocks to the left): according to the staff the swimming right in front of the hotel is dangerous. But it was fine both days i was there, with hardly any waves or current. The staff is sweet and fun and up for a chat. The dinners were good, but really way too pricy for what you are getting. Same goes for drinks.
The place needs some work. Walls could do with a fresh coat of paint. Sheets need to be renewed. And i would expect daily cleaning in this price range (my room was cleaned when i asked, after a little situation with local 'wildlife'). There are no umbrellas in the pool area- which i missed. And the beach area right in front of the hotel had a lot of litter. Which you basically look at all day. I understand it not their grounds, but i see people clean up public beaches in front of their hotels everywhere in sri lanka. So that cant be the reason.

Perfect last stay before heading back to Colombo.
The villas are wonderful, with a whole floor to yourself. I think there’s only four of them so it was lovely and peaceful. My room on the first floor had a beautiful large bedroom with very high ceiling and lots of space and surfaces, plus a whole extra lounge space where you can eat outside. A beautiful clean pool. And then you’re just steps from the gorgeous quiet beach. There’s a lovely garden inside too. Really lovely and friendly hosts. Very happy, thank you.
The only thing I would say can be better is larger portions when you order a curry… but I’m greedy :)

Villa Nilnara was a great place to stay. The location was super clean and comfortable. The food was super nice! We had fresh fish with a nice and fresh salad. Also the variety of the breakfast was nice (local or international breakfast). Every day we were asked about the timing when we want to have breakfast and dinner and the staff was super flexible.
The accommodation is located directly at a really nice beach. Which is super empty because there are almost no neighbors or tourist accommodations around. The “garden” and the pool offers enough space for everyone to have private and quiet time.
Above all the staff was really friendly and helpful. Once our WiFi was broken and they arranged someone to come to fix it immediately. They also arranged a scooter. Everyone made us feel very welcome.
Food is pricey but worth it.

Absolutely loved my stay here! The villa is right on the beach, offering the most stunning views from the spacious rooms .It’s incredibly peaceful, perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The food was exceptional—fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Perfect location if you want to be in a secluded area and right next to the beach. The pool was lovely and water temperature was perfect.
The rooms are really beautiful, bathroom could be a little bit cleaner. There is a window that’s always open and mosquitoes can enter.
Breakfast was really great with lots of options (mind the flies). They even packed us a breakfast the first night for our safari tour where we had to leave very early.
All though the location was beautiful, there aren’t many restaurants in the proximity. We tried diner at the hotel but it was mediocre and quite expensive. The drinks were warm and we had to wait some time. Next day we tried something else.
We are a family of four and booked 2 rooms for 2 days, they have 2 villas with each 2 rooms. It was strange that we were separated.

A beautiful villa right by the beach — a perfect place to relax and immerse yourself in the soothing sound of the waves. The rooms are huge, elegantly furnished, and each has an additional space that serves as a living room.
We enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace with a spectacular view of the ocean. However, the absolute highlight of our stay was the fantastic food. Every single dish we ordered was delicious — hands down the best food we had during our entire trip to Sri Lanka.
We spent every day at the beach, where in the afternoons we could watch traditional fishing methods, and some of the fresh catch even ended up on our plates later!
We also took a tour organized through the villa. We highly recommend the river safari, which includes a must-visit stop at Cinnamon Island and a local temple.

Greeted on arrival and let in to room. Welcome drink and cold towel was lovely. Staff at Villa Nilnara are amazinbgh. Super helpful. Breakfast was amazing. All cooked fresh on the premises. Room was very comfortable. plenty of space. There was a weird entrance area shared by the room above and they wanted to use our terrace area for coming in and out which was odd. So we had a word and they got funny about it. we weren't using their balcony upstairs!! Close to the beach. easy to get an uber and get around to Galle, Bentotam Balapitiya. Great partying in Haikkaduwa for new years. Big shout to Ranga who was super helpful throughout our holiday. Really made a huge difference.

The property is a little tired and could do with a freshening up
The staff are delightful and Ranga the chef was good. It would help having some sort of booklet with more information about pre ordering food / local attractions / restaurants as it’s otherwise v limited to what you can do /eat.
The only time we saw the owners son was in a rushed visit to pick up the cash payment & being asked to write a good review which we found very distasteful.
The views and the pool are wonderful and the local staff v kind & attentive.
Superb aircon & mini fridges.
It was difficult to find and should have better signage at the end of the track as we ended up nearly on the beach! But the local were so kind to help our driver with directions

I had the most incredible stay at this beach villa! The location was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning ocean views and just a few steps away from the soft sandy beach. The villa itself was clean, beautifully designed, and equipped with every amenity I could need for a relaxing getaway.
What truly set this experience apart was the food. Every meal was a masterpiece, freshly prepared.
This villa is perfect for anyone looking to unwind in a serene paradise while enjoying the best food and service. I can’t wait to come back!

Great pool. Big rooms. Plenty of outdoor space for kids. Easy access to beach although dumping waves out front. Short walk to south point where it was flatter for kids. Good breakfast.
Lunch/dinner meals available were a bit overpriced and minimal options. Although this reflected the local tourist area. No great street food options close by.

Nilnara Villa was absolutely stunning, spacious, clean and cozy place to stay a few or even more days! It is located a bit away from the (urban) noise with a nice beach (great pool!) but at the same time very close (by tuk tuk/motorbike) to the near villages/cities. The stuff was always there for us and helped in any ways (even took us to the airport) and even the chef cooked us wonderful meals.

The staff were attentive and very helpful. There is a chef who makes you yummy breakfasts and dinners each night that we ate on our balcony. The resort is quiet and on a beautiful stretch of beach with only a few other resorts. We were impressed with how little garbage we saw on the beach. The resorts had a tuk tuk that they will take you into town for snacks or drop you at the train!

It's an amazing place to stay for a short or a long trip! Quiet and remote...not many people around. The Villa's location is amazing and the staff is extremely helpful and nice. They go out of their way to help you.
There is no internal phone to call for room service or for any other stuff. You have to go down physically to do it which can be very easily sorted by installing a bell at least if not an internal phone.

The crew is very kind and motivated to provide a relaxing time. They have a good cook and the garden with the pool is very nice.
We had to kill a lot of Moskitos when we arrived. After that battle it was save :-)
