The hotel is located right next to the beach. The food is quite good, local breakfast + standard things eggs, bacon, vegetables, bread. Local drinks, quite good. The service is very nice and helpful. Entertainment and water sports are also good and well run.
There are probably no disadvantages.

The main thing about this hotel is the excellent service, which was amongst the best we have experienced in our travels. All the staff were excellent from Rohan and Sajid in the restaurants (to name a few) to the reception staff. The facility was clean and well maintained, considering the rains they had been having. We were there the second week in October but only had two days of torrential rain. Food choices were excellent at the buffet and the grill restaurant (Saute) the Asian and Italian were reasonable but not excellent and were not open every day. The entertainment team were also excellent
The only downside was: 1. though the beaches are public the one in front of the hotel should have the litter picked up more frequently & 2. It is appalling that the shop on site was selling shells. The reefs are suffering as it is and from the condition of the shells it was clear they were harvested live. The RIU hotel chain should play a bigger role in conservation of the reefs.

Fabulous hotel, friendly staff. Lovely varied food. Had better cocktails elsewhere. very clean. good value for money.
Avoid this hotel at the weekend. occupancy triples - Locals attend (large groups of single men who drink excessively.)

Great location, big rooms, spacious garden and 3 big pools + kids pool area, yummy food especially in Asian restaurant.
The Beach is a public zone so some beach boys tried to sell us something. There is a shack on the beach that looks really shabby. I think that hotel of that class should replace it even if its not the owner as it simply spoils the view.

A beautiful hotel, large, comfortable and with the most delicious food!
The food was so amazing that I will mention it again!!!!!
Pools were clean and so tidy.
More sun beds than people wanting to use them.

When we first arrived the hotel was fully booked and ow boy was it busy, so busy that it was a tad overwhelming after touring Sri Lanka and all the beautiful locations.
It did settle down for the second half of our 4 day stay and gave back a tranquility that the hotel guests deserved.

staff was not attentive and they should plan well for the incoming travelers. wasted many valuable hours in counter to checking. never go again. this is the best example for best location, with poor management.

Staff is amazing! specially the house keeping staff is doing an exceptional job. Always keeps the room super clean and tight. They always do a nice deco with towels on the bed going above and beyond with their duty. Always keeps the room and toilet spotless.
If I really have to say something negative I'd say the beach and the sea adjacent to the hotel is not the nicest. I know thats not the hotels fault but if anyone looking for a hotel with a nice beach this hotel is not for you. The kids pool/ waterpark is too small for a hotel of this size.
