It’s not clean at all the room was dirty and the bathroom wasnt clean ,bed wasnt comfy at all,the floor outside people keep their plates nobady takes it.alot of insects

This was our second time staying at the Mayflower and everything was wonderful again! The room was big, well equipped and comfortable with a large attached balcony and a very spacious and luxurious bathroom. The staff were all amazing from the reception to the bar and restaurant. Delicious Lebanese breakfast (with options for English or Continental as well) served in the charming Duke of Wellington restaurant and bar. We had so many special memories here over the years. Special thanks to the staff and especially the owner for his kind hospitality. We will always be back ❤️

The best thing about this hotel is the location in the middle of Hamra which has many shops, restaurants and attractions. The employees were friendly for the most part and the beds were comfortable.
The furniture is old and the room had many areas that had dust. It can definitely be much cleaner in terms of the windows fingers marks, doors, entrance, etc. The Housekeeping team didn't quickly respond to our complaint regarding utensils/plates with remaining food that were left outside in front of our room for almost a whole day. I was also quite disappointed to go to breakfast and realize that even the dining tables had marks from hot cups/ spots. Not sure if they're keeping old furniture to keep the oldies vibe of the hotel but I definitely expected much more from a 4 star hotel. The breakfast options were okay but the food was mediocre. The hotel can definitely offer a much better experience considering its great location in Hamra.

Location is great, that’s why are choose this property. Hamra is my favorite spot in Beirut - always busy, always lively, and easy to get around if you need to catch Uber or just walk around Beirut.
4 starts, no way. More like 1 star, if even. Check in not good, system didn’t work. Room key worked only for a day, every evening had to go to get new one. Cleaning non existing. Morning after I arrived someone came to ask to clean, I said not necessary I just got there - for 5 following days no one came.
Single room I booked is something Lebanese will let their help to stay in, not guests. Yes it’s cheap by European standards but all hotels with “4 starts” had similar price.
Personal looked at me like why I am there - seemed upset and bothered all the time. Gave me absolutely weird vibe.

I was initially skeptical about staying here due to the low rating, but I’m glad I did. While the hotel is starting to show some age, my room felt very homely, clean, and comfortable. Considering the unbeatable location and the friendliness of the staff, I found it to be a great value overall. Don’t be misled by the reviews.
