My stay at the Kempinski Beirut was appalling. A Chanel bag valued at €3,000 was stolen from my room by housekeeping. Despite the manager confirming via camera that housekeeping was the only one to enter, the hotel has taken no responsibility. I received no excuses, no help, and certainly no reimbursement for my significant loss. This complete lack of respect for their guests and their property is unforgivable.

The hotel itself good and beautiful and the reception staff were respectful specially Mr.Bilal , but my overall experience was terrible. I had a very embarrassing and unacceptable situation during a family trip. At the pool, my family members were wearing burkinis, and we were suddenly told that burkinis are not allowed—only swimsuits. This makes absolutely no sense since burkinis are designed for swimming. Nothing about this restriction was mentioned before booking, and it caused a huge problem for us.
I later found out that the Summerland facilities are managed separately from the hotel, but that does not excuse the way this was handled. What happened was discriminatory, frustrating, and completely unacceptable. I expected a stay at one of the so-called top places in Beirut, but the reality was the opposite. I would never come back and do not recommend this hotel to families .
•A piece of advice to the hotel management: try to change the Summerland management, as it will affect the reputation of a hotel of this standing. They need to understand that they should welcome all people and religions, and accept their guests as they are.

Food is very bad for a 5 star hotel, staff is not well prepared, pool is very dangerous with its tiles that got off under your feet, adult pool is too noisy, the Room is too cold, the terrace room is very dirty, baby crib is too small for a 1 year old baby. We had a very bad experience and won’t come again

The staff were so friendly, but in a high professional way which gives a sense of luxury and special treatment. Specially, the blond lovely lady at the reception, Madeleine I believe was her name, who checked us in and kept checking on us until prior to check out and another lady who showed us the way to the room. Also, Saturday or Sunday nights around 10 pm a very nice gentleman at the reception made a kind gesture that was truly appreciated.
Now I feel bad that I’m not good with remembering names because I don’t normally care to write a review, but I definitely remember souls and faces.
I love the fact that when I forgot to pay upon arrival they didn’t push or demand. After a couple of nights they called and asked politely, “We couldn’t find your payment, in case you already paid did you pay in cash or card?” (Then they gave me the time to relaxe and continue what I was doing and pay later when I’m free which is truly appreciated)
The remarkable touch was the check-out procedure instead of 12 pm they allowed me until 2 pm, as my flight was 6 pm. I was out for lunch and was late extra hour of what we agreed on. I started to wonder how the hotel isn’t calling me and banging on the door like any other hotel, which is their right btw. It’s is a second to none experience!!! I wish that I meet the same staff when I visit the best of the best hotels in Beirut again. FYI, I was moving between different 5-star hotels for testing before a special occasion.
Also, room service 24 hours is amazing specially when I called around 4 or 5 am asking for 1 thing, but the Indian guy kept offering services that I really wanted but didn’t need, so I was shy to ask for since I’ll be checking out soon. Another great point, the staff doesn’t show that they’re waiting for a tip they assist to the fullest and leave the moment they are done and ask if we need any other assistance.
I didn’t like that I haven’t try the hotel before and wasted my time trying 2 different hotels, and shockingly I paid slightly more in the other hotels it was above $900 for 2 nights, but Kempinski was $850 which is so worth it

Room service food was good.
Not our first stay at this hotel - the pool is very dangerous - broken tiles and broken glass panels - a family member suffered a very deep laceration that required stiches. The management is aware of the low quality of the facility and its danger to public safety but they keep it open. They offered full refund but this is not the point. Safety of guests should be above and beyond profitability. If you are looking to stay at hotel with pool facilities just go somewhere else.

1. I arrived after midnight around 2 Am and they made me pay for an extra night!
