Wonderful
We stayed in one of the bungalows overlooking the paddy fields and the karst mountains. The view was absolutely beautiful- definitely the best of our entire trip. The bungalow was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable. A delicious breakfast is delivered to your bungalow each morning. We had drinks on the hotel deck watching the hot air balloons drifting across the cloudless sky and paramotors soaring high above - magical.

Unique stay. Rice forleds are beautiful and the views when you walk among them stunning. Staff struggle a bit with English but are nice and helpful.
Location a bit out of the way... 15 min walk to main markets etc which is not pleasant at night so better to take a tuktuk.

The location of this resort is stunning and very beautiful, with mountains as a backdrop and the well-designed chalets nicely spaced for privacy. Breakfast is brought to your chalet. The restaurant also serves delicious food and the staff were very friendly and professional. For Laos, a stay here is pricey but it's also worth splurging for the comfort and quiet, beautiful chalet and grounds. Strongly recommend a three-day stay and that you rent a scooter to visit a couple of the lagoons nearby.

My stay at Viengtara Vangvieng Resort was absolutely unforgettable. The resort is perfectly located—surrounded by breathtaking limestone mountains, lush rice fields, and the peaceful Nam Song River. It truly feels like a hidden paradise in Vang Vieng.
The bungalows are spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with a natural touch. I loved waking up to the serene view of the fields and hearing birds singing in the morning. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything I needed.
The breakfast was fresh and delicious, with both local and international options. One of my favorite parts of the stay was enjoying a coffee while watching the sunrise over the mountains—pure magic!
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape in nature with great hospitality and comfort, I highly recommend Viengtara Vangvieng Resort. I’ll definitely be back!

Wow! So pretty and lovely service. Large parking lot. Check in was delightful with cold drink and towel. You order your breakfast with a delivery time slot at check in. Escorted to villa - the setting in the rice field in the valley with the mountains is spectacular.
The villas are lovely, eight in a row on boardwalks over the paddies. Each has a deck with rough seating on two sides and with only two bean bag type kind of dirty cushions, one square and one trapezoid shaped. The interior is rustic but comfortable, same for bathroom. There is kettle, coffee, tea, cookies, stocked mini-fridge, robes and slippers. The bathroom has lots of toiletries, nice towels and a decent hair dryer.
The room has good lighting but the bathroom is very dark. It’s all about the view and the situation here.
We got some cold drinks and after a few minutes managed to each find comfortable positions on the deck for a lovely afternoon watching the view. Pretty quiet with a few para-motors flying overhead around sunset but no big deal. One hot air balloon landed just beyond the rice field which was fun to watch.
Had a little late lunch at the restaurant; good but very expensive. Easy to walk to restaurants on this side of the river or can walk across the motorbike bridge into town in 15 minutes. So that’s what we did for dinner.
Breakfast delivered to your deck in the morning, very pleasant and civilized.
No where to put luggage other than floor. No indoor seating. Very hard to regulate hot vs cold water in shower.
Sadly, like most of Laos, the evening was long and loud with horrid music from next door…. Karaoke, the bane of Asia. I know the music wasn't coming from this resort but when you make a splurge stay in a villa over a rice paddy the expectations are for a quiet relaxing evening. This was anything but.
The onsite restaurant is very expensive.
At checkout they make you wait for the room to be checked to make sure you didn’t steal anything.

The setting is beautiful!! We wish would could have been in a cabana, they looked lovely but were sold out. The staff were wonderful.
It was the dry season and the area we looked out on from our room was not pleasant! A ‘pond’ that was drying up and you could see some trash etc. We didn’t feel like spending any time on our balcony! We spent of time sitting and looking out on the rice paddies etc!!

The spot is everything but so many tourists come in during the day to take pictures. We felt like sleeping in a middle of a public park (they let in a group of 15 artists to draw the view, they all install themselves on our pontoon and we were almost not able to reach our cabane). + impossible to feel the quiet surrounding with tens of powered paragliders flying from 8 am.
Room were comfy but the shower wasn't the cleanest (old dirt). NO BABY COT
Food is way overpriced.
Staff was friendly enven if disappointing that they let so many people go in..

Unique setting. Attentive staff, generally quiet.
We would suggest providing 2 wicker poech chairs for each villa.

Wonderful
Excellent view at the resort, very good service, especially in the resort restaurant.
The walking path is not in good condition if you are pulling luggage from the other side of the river to the resort but this is not the resort problem.
The condition of the rice fields depends on the season; the view may not be appealing if the rice has already been harvested.

Very impressed. The room has privacy. The view is very beautiful. In the morning you can see the mountains and fog, including beautiful rice fields. In the evening you can see balloons in front of the room. I would like to commend the staff here. They have a service mind, are friendly, take good care of the guests, are polite, and provide great assistance. The breakfast is beautiful and delicious, served to the room. The atmosphere is good. If you want to relax and don't want to go anywhere, you can lie down and look at the view on the balcony in front of the room, which is very nice.
There are paramotors flying over the hotel since 6am. The noise is heard in the bedroom. Not suitable for guests who want to relax and don't want to wake up early.

A destination unto itself, it rivals any Vang Vieng natural attraction and we spent most of our time willingly languishing on the property grounds. Breakfast was served on our own veranda. Location was perfectly proximate - close enough walk to town without being in it, and set at the doorway to west vang vieng where all the natural attractions are. They helped us book whatever we needed.

ViengTara VangVieng Resort absolutely exceeded my expectations! This place is pure magic!
The moment I arrived, I was speechless. The resort boasts stunning views of rice paddies and majestic mountains. It's a postcard-perfect setting that will leave you breathless.
Walking to your villa is an experience in itself. You get to stroll through serene rice fields, surrounded by the beauty of nature. The villas themselves are incredible! They are spacious, luxurious, and tastefully decorated. The in-room breakfast service was fantastic. They deliver a delicious and fresh breakfast right to your balcony, allowing you to enjoy the incredible views while you savor your meal.
