The view on the riverside was exceptional. The staff was friendly and helpful in booking activities.
The room was filled with bugs. There were even bugs in my sheets. There was also a lizard in my room at one point. Some of the towels had stains on them. The air conditioning would turn off in the middle of the night no matter what the settings were. When I left the AC on during the day while I was gone, the maids would turn it off if they came while I was away. I also had issues paying because their card reader was broken.

refreshing pool & nice garden, hotel is close to the river which gives a fresher breeze, riverside balcony, yoga room & classes, shower water filter, eco friendly water refills, breakfast with delicious omelet ? close to restaurants & shops

Beautiful view of the river from my small, private balcony. The hotel has a yoga studio on site, and I highly recommend the sunset yoga set on a farm just a short walk away from the property. The room was spacious and clean. The riverside patio/deck was a lovely space to sit and relax or work.
The poolside and riverside bars rarely were mostly unattended, even during the advertised happy hour from 5pm to 7pm . Even if you brought your own beverage to sit by the river and watch a sunset, there was no ice and no glass and no one to help you find them. For ice you have to ask at the reception desk and when they are not busy they may be able to get you some from the kitchen. The included breakfast was just ok.

View was amazing as always. Staff, especially Pong and the local ladies, were very helpful arranging for vehicle hires from and to the railway station.
Building seems very old. In-room facilities seem to be lacking maintenance, i.e. bathroom facilities, tiles, paint, AC). Bedsheets were stained.

One of the original Riverside hotels before vang vieng became spoiled by unplanned over development - so nice view from front rooms
Property is tired and in need of some maintenance ang freshening up. The ancient AC units take an hour or so to cool the room down. Bathroom looks like one from a $10 guesthouse. Ground floor bathrooms filthy. Fridge tiny and barely functioning For just under $100 for a family room this is poor value compared to newer properties in town.

The only positive was the staff let me cancel the second night without charge.
Where do I begin. The room was extremely dirty, and website photos didn't look like the room at all. There was an unlockable door to the next room that I had to jam shut with an ironing board, mould and grime in shower + bathroom, toilet was running non-stop, had to hit the cistern to fix. I didn't actually sleep at all, kept the lights on as it did not feel secure or safe, and didn't dare go inside the bed.

Staff was ok, not great - everything took longer than it should have - waiting 1 1/2 hours for food at dinner and had to ask for their help to get van tickets 2 times - but them meant well

Pool is great. View of the nearby mountains a real pleasure. We were able to order a bus to Vientiane with pickup at the hotel at the reception, very convenient. Breakfast with fresh made eggs or omelet was very nice.
When we wanted happy hour cocktails, the bartender didn't show up for 5 or 10 minutes, then had to go somewhere outside the hotel to buy ice! Cocktails were ok but didn't have much alcohol. Room service forgot to clean our room. Cleaning not so essential but new toilet paper and bottles of water would have been nice. The long tail boats heading past morning and evening are pretty loud but the hotel can't do anything about that.
