The old lady's son is incredibly friendly and helpful, but as far as I could tell, he's never actually at the hostel

-Incredible view (the hostel is on the 22nd floor)

The manager (the old lady) only cares about money. Friendliness, trust, and hospitality are not important to her. I was not the only guest to have this impression, and I was not the only one to move to a different hostel because of her poor attitude.
The room is crampedtoo many beds / guests in too small of a space, and it always feels stuffy and uncomfortable.

no ventilation in the apartment and in the shower/washrooms. Cleaning lady did her laundry (bedding and lining) and dried them out inside the apartment. Therefore, it was humid inside.

Fabulous location in centre of the city near all the main sites. It was great to have a lounge and kitchen so it felt homely. The owner is lovely, even though she speaks little English. The transfer by her son from the airport to apartment was definitely worth adding. His English is excellent and ensured I was delivered door to door to the apartment.

Location is second to none and for that alone The Place hostel should get a top choice. Astana is quite spread out so being bang on central was very convenient. The owners were absolutely lovely and super helpful.

The place's location is just perfect, in the heart of Murzhol Boulevard. The room is really spacious. Abai, the owner's son, is a really great guy. very nice and helpful. There's a shop in the ground floor open till late, so you can buy supplies whenever you need them. You have free laundry
The place looks as if it was great once, but really need some proper maintenance. The AC didn't work (just make noise, but don't really does anymore) and the windows barely open, so sleep were very difficult due to the heat. The bathrooms weren't clean. Not horribly dirty, but definitively not clean. And the place has several broken facilites, like the hooks in the shower, that simply haven't benn fixed.

It was bright, great location, very central, nice checkin and checkout, you could use the washing machine. Neighbors are quiet
One of the side toilets was not so clean( but cleaned next day). Thicker curtain for the window would be nicer

Great location, clean, comfortable with a nice kitchen. The people running it are very friendly and helpful.
Not a traditional hostel. More like a house. Cleaner, nicer and more comfortable, but can be hard to find and there isn't really any tourist information (mainly a problem if you don't speak Russian like us)

Grandma ruling the place is very sweet.
Probably the best location in the city

Bathrooms for boys and girls, separate, so not crowded.

Each bed has its own tripple sockets from extensions from what i could see
Lockers in each room, one for each bed.
Big kitchen, all necessities there
Keep in mind, possibly no one will open the door for you for the first time, so you better call the number on booking to get your keys. Grandma lives in apartment nearby so just call her
No air conditioning - keep that in mind in the summer
Beds not comfortable, rather flat with thick cotton matresses. But well, that's the price for booking a hostel

Its more like an appartement than an hostel, its had the living room- Kitchen, 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets.
The location are perfect on the 22th floor of a building, very close to the tower of Bayterek.
Clean and good modern bathroom.
The owner are very nice and kind.
Its hard to communicate to the owner if you don't speak Russian or Kazak.

The son of the woman who ran the hostel was very friendly and collected us from the airport. The location is good for food and for visiting some sites.
The beds weren't too comfortable, and the top bunk mattress didn't fit in the bed so was a little tight. The woman who ran the hostel was quite rude, and was really hurrying us out of the hostel when it was check out time, and wasn't happy for us to leave bags there (Although she did allow it for a few hours). Not a particularly social atmosphere while we were there, although were some other travellers.
