Very Good
The room was very spacious. Overall, the hotel was good. It is definitely better suited for locals. We stayed in the low season which suited us as it was quiet and not crowded however, there is not much to do around the hotel.
The indoor pool came at a cost to use. With the location, you need to have a vehicle to get around or use Uber. The pillows also need a change. They were uncomfortable and very flat.

I liked the location and the fact that we had a big room. We happened to be there during APAC so there were a lot of things happening and we had a fireworks show everyday that we could see from our balcony and that was nice.
The restaurants food at the market was not that great. For a 5 star hotel and the prices I would expect better food choices. Also the room wasn’t properly cleaned when we checked in and always had hair in the towels and bath tub after cleaning. I did not enjoy that.

The rooms were clean, extremely comfortable, and quiet. The views from the balcony over Bomun Lake were stunning. The buffet had an excellent food selection with Western and Korean dishes for breakfast. Nice and safe walking along the lake on a trail (easy access from the hotel and lighted at night) helps shed some of the calories gained throughout the day.
Nothing really negative to comment about regarding the stay at the Lahan Select Gyeongju. Our overall experience was worth the cost, even though I had wished for better value for money. The upper parking lots and the B1 garage get crowded at times, but we always found a spot on the B2 level.

Disappointing
I don’t usually leave reviews—good or bad—because it feels like a hassle. But after my stay at Lahan Select, I felt it was necessary to share my experience so others are aware.
Unfortunately, I had three separate but related unpleasant experiences, all involving the front desk staff and their customer service.
First, after booking a two-night stay, I wanted to see if I could either cancel one night or change my room type. I called around 7 PM, but no one answered, so I left a message via Booking.com. I waited until the next morning around 10 AM. When I called again, a female staff member picked up. She asked for my name to check the reservation, but firmly told me there was no booking under my name. She even questioned whether I had booked at the correct branch or entered the right dates. Only after I suggested she check using my Booking.com confirmation number did she find my reservation—still, no apology for the confusion or delay.
Second, I asked if I could change my room type. She said my reservation couldn’t be modified. I then asked if I could cancel just one night and pay the one-night penalty (as per the cancellation policy from the night before). She insisted that the reservation was non-refundable and non-changeable at that point. I explained that I had tried to reach them the night before, but no one had responded. Oddly, she said that even if they had replied the night before, I still would’ve had to pay in full—not just the one-night penalty. She added that it wasn’t the hotel’s responsibility and that I should contact Booking.com regarding refund policies. I mentioned I had a screenshot of the cancellation terms if she wanted to see it, and she said she would check and call me back. A few minutes later, she called to say I could in fact cancel one night and only pay the penalty—again, with no apology for the back and forth.
After talking it over with my family, we just decided to keep the two-night booking.

Very Poor
This trip was incredibly meaningful for my family. We were returning to Korea after several years abroad, hoping to reconnect with our culture and create special memories with our young child. Based on your branding and reputation, we chose Lahan Select Gyeongju expecting comfort, professionalism, and high-quality service. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, it became clear that these expectations would not be met.
1. Unacceptable Hygiene and Room Conditions
One of the most basic expectations of any hotel stay is cleanliness—something your hotel failed to provide.
The elevator buttons were visibly dirty, covered in layers of fingerprints and smudges, suggesting they had not been cleaned or sanitized for quite some time.
When we entered our room, we discovered a used face mask tucked between the bed and the furniture. This was absolutely unacceptable and left us wondering what else had been overlooked during cleaning.
Even more appalling, the bathtub was coated in grime and soap residue, clearly left behind by a previous guest. I was forced to clean the bathtub myself before allowing my child to bathe, which should never happen at any hotel—let alone a five-star property.
2. Dismissive and Unprofessional Breakfast Service
Your website and check-in information stated that breakfast would be served until 10:00 AM. Yet, when we arrived at 9:30 AM, we were flatly denied entry by the staff. When I expressed confusion, we were rudely told to “just buy some bread”—as if this could somehow replace the service we paid for.
This was both unprofessional and incredibly disrespectful, especially considering the high price we paid for our stay. It left us frustrated and hungry, with no explanation or alternative offered.
3. Complete Lack of Allergy Awareness and Accommodation
Our 3-year-old child has a severe egg allergy, which we mentioned to the staff.

Besides the buffet, there is no place to drink coffee in the morning until 10 am. It will be good to open the book & cafe at 8 am
