SoonNoeng is the best resort on the entire island. You get off of the pier and are immediately greeted with warm welcomes. Bong Davy helped us get settled in so well. She took the time to show is different tour packages and made her personal recommendations. She even remembered our names the next day :) The pool is very clean with warm water. All of the private rooms are located at the top of the beach too if you prefer vitamin C.

Wonderful
staff were excellent and very friendly and very accommodating, Food was excellent and the new pool and bar were a great new addition. The beach side rooms were excellent to stay in. Waking up to a bay sunrise was a highlight.
Beds could have been a bit softer and only had hot water for a shower in the morning. Curtain for the room needs attention as is didn't quite cover up for total privacy.

Very Good
Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is right in front of the pier, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. In general, the staff were very accommodating. Food is quite good and well-priced, as are the drinks. The beach is beautiful, and having access to SUP is great. Having assistance from the hotel to book Ferries was very useful.
The main things I would point out for improvement are the number of mosquitoes inside the wardrobe in the room, and that the restaurant tends to get quite hot at lunchtime (some more fans would go a long way). A few other issues (maybe related to my stay during Khmer New Year Celebrations) are that the music at the pool bar is on the loud side (personal preference), and that trash, such as plastic bottles and cigarette butts, is not cleaned promptly.

This place fully met all my expectations. I booked a beachfront bungalow, and it was absolutely perfect. The view was beautiful, the food at the resort was very good, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The manager was especially friendly and welcoming. I honestly can’t say a single negative thing about this place. I can fully recommend it, and if I ever have the chance to return to the island, I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Wonderful resort on a quiet part of the beach!
I was a little concerned when booking here after reading some of the bad reviews, but we were so impressed with this place and the service was excellent!
Getting here-
The resort will reserve a boat for you from Sihanoukville. We paid $23 USD per person for a return ticket. You pick up the ticket at the pier and pay at the resort. The last boat of the day leaves the pier at 5pm so plan flights accordingly! From there it’s only a 30-45min boat ride.
We booked a taxi from the Sihanoukville airport to the pier with Mango taxis and the service was so easy and great.
Cash & cards-
Be sure you have cash! We saw lots of places take credit cards but there are no ATMs on the island. Most places have prices in USD and you may get USD or Riel change back. There are ATMs at the airport and at the pier.
The SoonNoeng pier is directly in front of the hotel and a staff member welcomed us on arrival. They served a nice blue welcome drink and the check in was easy. We booked on booking.com so it was all prepaid.
Rooms-
We booked their nicest room - beachfront villa. There are 5 total and I highly recommend it! It’s pricey for the area, but it’s right on the beach! The AC was cold, it has a mini fridge with reasonable minibar prices. The shower had plumbed HOT water and the pressure was great. The room was huge and so was the bathroom. You get bathrobes which was such a luxury after backpacking around Asia for 4 weeks. Like anywhere remote, there was the occasional power outage, but they only lasted a few minutes. The hotel tells you this is normal too.
Pool & Food-
They just put in a new pool and it’s beautiful! The breakfast was delicious, served buffet style (maybe because it was high season) but we got fresh omelettes, noodle soup, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, salad, bacon, boiled eggs, toast and a couple of Asian dishes like noodles and rice.

Very Poor
I ran into several issues during my 3 night stay including having no wifi in my room (they did tell me that internet could be a bit laggy at times but in my room I could not even connect). When I told them about these multiple issues they told me they could not do anything since I booked through booking and that I could contact booking to receive some type of compensation. When I did they initially agreed to give me a partial refund but then proceeded to make me waste my time for more than TWO MONTHS. They kept lying about having transferred the money to me but I repeatedly contacted my bank that told me that that was not true. In the end they just straight up ghosted me. I really do not recommend, they are a lot of cheaper and nicer hotel nearby or on other places on the island with better location.

We stayed in the beachfront villas at Saracen Bay next to Soon Noeng pier. Probably my favourite beach on this part of the island. Large, clean room with a great view of the water. Good buffet breakfast, with Khmer and western options.
No wifi to speak of in the room, only the restaurant. The bathroom had a strange, open air skylight with no covering. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes!

Amazing beachfront hotel, literally steps away from the port, super convenient. The room was really clean, comfortable, with a lovely shower and ac. The staff were really friendly and made everything really easy. We ate at the restaurant both nights and really enjoyed the food especially the pizzas. The beach on this island is stunning, would definitely recommend staying here

Wonderful
Clean and comfortable.
Right on the beach and next to the pier.
Good restaurant- good selection for breakfast.
Nraen (member of staff) was particularly helpful in organising trips, being chatty and generally an excellent member of the team! His English was fantastic and removed barriers when trying to organise things. He was particular helpful when we wanted to go on the mangrove tour- he organised the whole thing and it was fab.
The restaurant food was ok but didn’t wow us for lunches and evenings. We did attend a bbq but the food was raw (chicken). The staff rectified this really quickly but it did slightly taint it for us.

Stunning views, great beach. Lovely breakfasts. Not bad at all for a 3*.
Even though the views were gorgeous, the bathroom was open to the elements and there were serious numbers of mosquitoes.
