Very Poor
Leaving.... The hotel’s response is entirely false and demonstrates gross negligence, with no attempt at real customer support, there are no redeeming qualities in how this was handled.
***To the Hotel, your response says more about your standards than my review does.
The hotel’s online listing is nothing short of deceptive, and our experience was nothing short of nightmarish. The arrival alone set the tone; the dock was alarmingly narrow and unstable, utterly unsuitable for older guests and families with young children. I injured my knee disembarking, and this was before even stepping inside the property.
The bathroom was dangerously slippery, poorly designed, and unsafe, hardly conducive to relaxation or basic hygiene. There is no room service whatsoever, and the hotel is entirely unequipped to accommodate guests after 10 PM.... not even for something as simple as WATER TO DRINK or a snack in an emergency. When I went to the lobby to ask for assistance, I found the only visible employee asleep on a cot behind the desk.
The pool area managed to further disappoint. For several days, the loungers were bare, with no cushions provided until I personally complained to the manager. When my family finally used the pool, the chemical levels were so overdone that the water literally burned our skin. Weeks later, my six-year-old is still recovering from the rash caused by it. This isn’t hospitality, it’s carelessness disguised as a resort.
Upon departure, we were informed that our return trip to the mainland would be aboard the same large speedboat that had brought us to the island. That was not the case. The boat that eventually arrived was late, significantly smaller, and overcrowded. To make matters worse, there were no visible life vests or accessible safety equipment. Traveling with a child, I felt deeply uneasy as there were no safety instructions given, no briefings, and no reassurance of any kind. The crew’s indifference continued upon arrival, as they offered no assistance with luggage while passengers struggled to disembark. The entire transfer felt chaotic, unsafe, and utterly unprofessional for a property that claims to offer comfort and care.

I had a fantastic stay at Koh Rong Hill Beach Resort! The breathtaking views of the ocean from the hillside location made every sunrise and sunset truly memorable.
The rooms were comfortable and clean, with a relaxing vibe that perfectly complemented the natural surroundings. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure all our needs were met. The peaceful atmosphere and stunning scenery made it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Koh Rong Island!

Quiet beachfront with nice pool. Spacious room and comfortable bed. We had one of the older rooms that looked over the walkway to the water which was nice. The private pier is great to have as other piers got very crowded.
Not enough lounge/beach chairs. They were all taken by 9:00 in the morning. The breakfast was okay but the restaurant was dead at night. The bathroom/shower was as large as the bedroom but a weird set up with a sliding barn door that we were told to keep closed. It shared air with neighbouring unit which could get noisy. Newer units might have a different set up and we would prefer those.

At Koh Rong Beach Resort we arrive,

Soft white sand beneath our feet,
Ocean breeze and island heat.
Morning swims in waters blue,
Golden sunsets, perfect view.
Lazy days and starry nights,
Island dreams and twinkling lights.
Waves that whisper, palms that sway,
All our worries drift away.
Sea, sun, smiles — that’s the drive,
Living our best island vibe.
Breakfast was simple, safe, and plain,
Cornflakes only — again, again.
No yogurt in sight, coffee not great,
But hey… the beach makes up the plate.

Pleasant
It is well placed at the end of a great beach and a short walk from plenty of bars and restaurants.
Nice big, unusual shower room.
......and if only the water in the shower room was hotter than luke warm. Like a few Cambodian hotels a drop in tourism has led to under investing in everything. Rooms are starting to look like they need some renovations as does the bar and restaurant area.
It's not an appealing place to eat or drink despite the great view and the breakfast is really not good. Bland and unappetising. Apart from the egg station.
The pool area is tatty too.
You will often need to remind them more than once to clean your room too.
Sad really as it is in a good location and has potential. But there are plenty of better places on Koh Rong for the same price.

The resort was closed to where we got off our ferry.
Easy access to all restaurants and shops the pool had a swim up bar and lots of lounge chairs around the beach. Very beautiful water. Can also rent a scooter to get around the island on.

Very nice manager and friendly staff. Great location with nice beach access and pool, pleasant walks down the main 4K Beach strip.
Price way too high for room quality. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but satisfactory.

The staff was amazing. We loved outside the bathroom. The hotel is near the beach with a really clear water.
They organized a really nice setting for my birthday, thanks a lot for that!
The pool isn’t really deep, so you can’t really swim in it, otherwise it’s a nice place to just chill and have a cocktail.

The coffee wasn't good, on some days it had a horrible taste and was undrinkable.
The fruit was limited - often just dragon fruit and papaya. Rarely banana and I didn't see any pineapple.
A lot of the food was asian style breakfast food eg noodles. Although the egg station was good , I only spotted bacon once and that was on someone else's plate.
The juice was not fresh it was sweetened squash type drink
The giant millipede that got into my bedroom and was on my pillow. Holes in the bathroom walls so the bathroom was not sealed from insect invasion.
