Dragonfly Guesthouse is operated by the two friendliest, kindest, and most thoughtful people you could ever hope to meet. The location was excellent, the room was clean and quiet, and the bed was the most comfortable in Southeast Asia! Highly recommend Dragonfly Guesthouse to all who visit this island!
Dragonfly Guesthouse is exceptional in all regards! But, the low season at M'Pai Bay has few travelers to talk with and few places to eat. I would recommend visiting during the high season.

Pleasant
Nice location and they lent us their snorkels for a few hours.
No AC, which we did know. No wifi, which we assumed was because of the location but other hostels in the area seemed to have good connection. The bathroom is very basic, which was fine but could have been a little cleaner. We booked this hostel because we are vegan and like to support vegan businesses, and it makes it easier to find good food. However during our stay the restaurant was closed with no prior warning.

The staff is super nice and helpful, and the bar is located literally at the best spot on the island (unless you really want to be on the beach). You get the most amazing morning calm and sunset view. The room itself was ok, clean, and with a fan, but I a bit expensive for what it was (it wasn't in the best conditions) - I do however think they will fix the little things that need to be fixed.

Very Good
The location, the staff and views ??
Only 2 things: No hot water in the showers & frogs coming out of the drains everytime we showered was the only downfall really but we got on with it as best we could!

Dragonfly was exceptional. Tashsa and Kirsten were amazing hosts. They had great info and so friendly. The garden with the sea view was amazing and you can watch the best sunset from the rocks and also has access for snorkeling. The location was brilliant, very quiet but 2 mins walk to the main streets. They have a plant based menu and some lovely cocktails plus beer etc. I will definitely be staying here again.
There was nothing to not like here

Very Good
We stayed at the Dragonfly Guesthouse for a couple of nights which was perfect for us to enjoy what the M'Pai Bay village has to offer - we loved wondering around the village, seeing the sunset, joining in the dumpling making classes etc. - it was fun but unfortunately the sea was too rough to do any snorkeling during our stay so we missed out on that, and we were even worried about getting stranded there, as the boats were not running due to the windy conditions but luckily it was OK the day we were due to leave. We were able to get $5pp boat to the Sunset Beach (which was beautiful) and $10pp from the Koh Rong island (even though that trip was a bit tricky and delayed because of the bad weather that day but should be fine any other time). I think it's good to stay different places for a bit and enjoy all that's there - I loved everywhere we stayed on the Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloen islands - the Dragonfly Guesthouse had a beautiful bar area, lovely staff and was a great base to enjoy the M'Pai Bay Village (but not so great for beaches or swimming).
I would have loved to have a kettle in our room for an early morning coffee. I was allowed to get hot water in the bar area but felt a bit uncomfortable doing that (as a tress-passer :)).

Absolutely loved staying at dragonfly guesthouse it was an excellent experience from start to finish? we turned up and the was greeted by the lovely ladies and they offered us a complimentary drink on arrival which was great, they then showed us too our room which was may I add such a great value for money, so spacious, clean and colourful.?the bar area was amazing with unreal views and the food ! Wow! The food! The hummus is to die for and as a chef I can say they are the best spring rolls I have ever tasted ever!!??Thankyou so much Kirsten and Tasha we will be back!!?
Nothing we loved everything!! but if we had to scrape one it was probably the no wifi but it’s island life and that’s what you go for a relaxation. There is a few bars in mpai including next door with wifi so it’s fine??

Stay here if you want the feeling of being in a rustic fishing village. Staff are all lovely and very interesting. The homestay is so rustic and has a lot of charm (it’s a traditional Khmer style house).

My stay at the Dragonfly was simply amazing! I loved the place - especially the wooden platforms just above the sea where you could easily spend your whole day just relaxing, enjoying some good drinks or nice veggie food. Christine and Tasha are super lovely people. They made me feel at home for the time I was there and I learned a lot about the island live talking to them. Loved it! I’m coming back :)

Very lovely and welcoming hosts who were always happy to answer our questions or chat. They made us feel at home, gave us interesting insights into the local community on the island, and gave the best tips for local restaurants. M’Pai Bay turned out to be a walhalla for foodies, with some must-try restaurants!!! We had some of the most amazing food here. If you want to experience the true charm of this village and eat in all the superb local restaurants, I definitely recommend staying in M’Pai Bay. You can visit the other beaches of the island easily via taxi boat (5$ pp). Dragonfly Guesthouse has a nice bar and lounge area where you can chill with ocean views, and their restaurant with vegan food is amazing. The room was according to the description, with nice decorations and a private bathroom and balcony. It was a peaceful place to stay.
The lack of airconditioning was something we had to get used to in the beginning, but thanks to the fan in the room and the ocean breeze, it was alright.

I extended my 3-night stay by another night here. Honestly, you could easily stay for at least a month. Tasha and Kirsten’s hospitality, the location being a paradise, the wooden house I stayed in, and its incredible comfort all made me feel right at home. The place has a plant-based kitchen, and they’re currently experimenting with new flavors. My favorite was the Scrambled Tofu Wrap! It was amazing—I practically licked my fingers. The bar’s cocktails are also excellent. You can watch the landscape from the bar through the sea and the trees! This is a perfect spot for vegan and vegetarian friends to stay at a very reasonable price while enjoying the peace of the island. There are also some small animal friends like cats and dogs around. In the evenings, there’s even a larger lizard buddy who walks along the upper beams of the bar, looking around. This place is truly wonderful—definitely visit!
Clearly nothing ?

The room was small but clean. The cocktails at the bar were amazing. And the bar is a really nice place to relax. The owners were really friendly and helpful.
The bed was really really hard, so we couldn't sleep well.
