Wonderful
Everything was great - comfortable king sized bed, location just a $2-3 tuk tuk ride from Pub St ((20 min walk), fantastic food, lovely pool with chaise lounges, and above-and-beyond staff. NaNa checked me in and showed me to my room, and addressed me by my first name during my stay. She was so friendly and hospitable.
My shower never got really hot, and the bathroom sink was slow draining.

Good
The location is great, all the staff are cheerful snd welcoming. In particular, Monits, the receptionist, spoke very good English, was extremely helpful with information and I appreciated her guidance and recommendations. She arranged my Angkor Wat tour and ensured that I had the best experience.
A little dated and could do with a make-over, but I was comfortable.

Very Good
The room was fine - nothing special. But the staff and service exceeded my expectation - more like a 4 star resort. Welcome drink, being seated while they check me in, taking care of dinner reservations and tours. Everyone was always smiling, warm and welcoming, and took the time to know my name. Very rare for a hotel that is $60 a night! Great location close to Angkor Wat.
Flourescent lighting in the room, limited mosquito control

Very Poor
I stayed at this hotel expecting a 4-star standard based on the room I booked. Unfortunately, the room I was given was clearly not of that category. It had a sink in the bedroom area, very old and deteriorated furniture (including crumbling surfaces), and a split/standalone AC unit instead of built-in air conditioning. Overall, it was visibly lower quality than the room shown in the listing. I raised the issue with reception and requested a room consistent with my booking, but the hotel said it was an upgrade. We only realized that there are different room categories upon check out. This is a material mismatch between what was advertised and what was delivered. I have requested a full refund but nobody answered my emails, and the hotel general manager didn’t even bother to talk to me in person. I would advise future guests to verify the exact room category on arrival before accepting the room.

Wonderful
Kimyan and Kark were the nicest hosts. Everything was comfortable and clean. The location in the middle of Angkor and Siem Reap downtown was perfect. And the food was really good.
The service outside at the pool area could be a little bit better.

We loved the way the staff greeted us every day, with smiles and cool towels and an eagerness to help. They set up a fantastic private tour guide and tuktuk driver for Angkor Wat and other temples and explained everything in advance. Breakfast was great, pool and bar were relaxing, and grocery next door incredibly well stocked gor expats and pristine.
On balance, nothing to complain about. Good value for a pleasant stay.

Fair
The staffs are exceptionally good. Both receptionists and restaurant staff are very attentive and greeted us while entering and exiting the restaurant. The food is pretty good with a made to order Egg station. It has ample fruits, breads and meats on display. The room service was prompt. Every time we came back from outside, the greeter offered cold towel for our relaxation. The property has a lot of tropical plants. The airport shuttle was available on time, the ride was enjoyable.
My room number was V04. This room had an inherent maintenance issue. The telephone was dead, came to realize it while attempting to order room service. They took one hour to fix it. Then the bathroom exhaust fan was not operating. They fixed it. Then the shower light on the ceiling went off making it a dark bathroom. They replaced the bulb. The last night of our stay was horrible. The wall AC unit started draining the water on the floor and a part of the bed. The engineer was at home. They called him back to take care of the issue. This issue typically happens if the air conditioner drain is not regularly flushed out. The hotel doesn't have a tea / coffee station in the lobby. They supplied Japanese green tea bags which has an awful taste. There should be Black tea bags in addition to green tea. So, the only way out is to go to the Bar and ask for tea for which I would have to pay. They did not provide shaving set as part of the amenity kit which Kimon had written to me via email before I arrived. A lady tour guide, provided by the Hotel lacked basic knowledge on Ramayana characters. She was insisting that Rama was married to Shoda whereas the name of Rama's wife is Sita. When asked to an outside tour guide about it he correctly uttered the name Sita. This lady tour guide, attached to the hotel, should be sent back to school for professional training.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days around Christmas time. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay, the hospitality & the convenience the hotel offers. The staff here is wonderful. When you visit a country, it's not just landmarks, but the people that make those memories possible for you. Cambodians are friendly and welcoming and the hotel staff represent this culture well. The room was nice, decorated with my name with flowers when we entered; fruit basket, gift for Christmas, cake during holiday nights. They know how to take care of their guests. The hotel is midway between temples and city center. It is located opposite to the national museum. Angkor temple is about a 20-30 minute Tuk Tuk ride, but the city center - night market, Pub street and restaurants are walkable, or a quick 5 minute ride away. Like I said, the staff is their strength. Our stay at the hotel started with a guest relationship manager, Kimyan, going over the facility and the services. She and her team took care of us so well that we felt like leaving a family behind. Front desk staff and the restaurant staff made it a smooth experience. Our bellhop, Yanping, was a charming youngman. Made us feel so important each time we entered and exited the hotel. He carried all our bags in one haul, with a smile on his face! Ms. Kimyan, Mr. Sann and Ms. Nana helped us with our tour planning and arranged Tuk Tuk or car rides. Sann and I had lengthy cultural discussions. Want to recognize rest of the team that made it a beautiful experience for us - Ms. Til Til, Ms. Kunthea, restaurant staff Ms. Thera, Ms. Aria (Shinnie), Mr. Seng, Mr. Sarak, Mr. Sina, Mr. Kara, massage therapist Ms. Soeum, room service staff Makar, Lihour and many others. Each helped us with a pleasant smile, respectful and communicated well. Overall, we had a wonderful time in Siem Reap. Angkor Wat was a long time dream and our stay here made it a pleasant memory. We will stay here again!
I could not think of any. But as an improvement, we would like to see more items for vegetarians in breakfast buffet.

The smell of sewage was prominent in the bathroom. The staff tried their best to remedy the situation once advised of the situation.

Wonderful
I am extremely grateful to the staff at Sala Siem Reap, especially Nita, Kark, and the rest of the team. I had originally booked a Deluxe Twin room, but upon check-in I realized that the bathroom only had a rain shower and no handheld shower head. This was difficult for me, as my leg was bandaged due to an injury. The staff went out of their way to help and eventually found me a room with a handheld shower head—a Deluxe Family room—and kindly upgraded me at no extra charge. Their thoughtfulness and attentiveness made my stay truly pleasant, injury notwithstanding. Beyond the excellent service, the rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and kept very clean. Location-wise, the hotel has both pros and cons: it is directly across from the Angkor National Museum and right next to a large, well-stocked supermarket, which is very convenient. However, it is about a 25-minute walk from the Old Quarter where most eateries are located, so you’ll either need to take a tuk-tuk or brave the heat if heading out for lunch. That said, it still represents very good value for money, especially considering that the hotel next door is the most expensive property in Siem Reap. As a thoughtful finishing touch, the hotel offers complimentary afternoon tea snacks in the lobby around 3 p.m. each day, and delivers delicious local cakes to the rooms in the evening—both of which were lovely surprises.
One small improvement I would suggest is adding a water refilling station in the hotel lobby. Many hotels around Siem Reap, including more budget-friendly ones, provide this to help reduce single-use plastic bottles. Given Sala Siem Reap’s otherwise high standards, its absence was a little surprising.

The team at Sala that took care of us (Kark, Kimyan, San, Samnab, Yan Pai, Til Til, Nita) were hands down the friendliest people. I travel for work weekly for years and travel for pleasure a ton too, so I've been in my fair share of hotels, at all price points, and I've never had such a thoughtful, attentive experience - and genuinely kind, not forced. The hotel location is great, the room was large and very clean, and the pool area was relaxing. I would not hesitate one second to stay here again. My partner was celebrating his birthday, and the team mentioned above even showed up at our door with a cake! We had an amazing experience.

An absolutely amazing place to call home for 8 days. The staff are stellar, super kind, helpful and always with a smile. They went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant, The gentleman that checked me in, made sure I was taken care of every day. The hotel is quiet and across from the National Musuem, a great market next door with all your western needs. It’s a quick walk to the river and multiple cafes. The pool area was very clean and quiet. No loud noises, after 7pm it was very quiet and perfect. You can hear the birds in the morning and monks faintly chanting in the background from a local Wat. I can't emphasis how friendly and kind the staff are from the manager, cooks, desk clerks, cleaning, wait staff everyone was amazing. I've stayed in a couple places in the last few months in SR and this is going to be my absolute go to.
