Absolutely outstanding. Incredible location, amazingly kind and helpful staff and a room that has been our favorite during our entire Japan trip. We slept so incredibly well on the futon and did not want to leave. Highly recommended, we will come back.

Great value hotel close to Shibuya and Nakameguro. Location is the best part of this hotel. Nakameguro is about a 15 minute walk from Fukudaya, while Shibuya is a little bit further at 20 minutes.
Staff was very accommodating and a joy to talk to. The main owner of the hotel speaks fluent English and was very helpful during the check in process. We even had a short chat about his travels around the world which was nice to hear about.
The room was clean and had enough room for a solo traveler like myself.
It was an overall good experience staying here, especially for the value.

Amazing staff. Great location within walking distance from Shibuya Station and the Starbucks Reserve. Great price for the location. My flight was delayed and they let me and my friend check in at different times.

It was a good ryokan hotel with traditional tatami flooring and close to Shibuya station. After arriving early and they were able to accept our luggage that we sent from Fuji the day prior and held it until our check in time. When we came back to the hotel they have already moved our luggage to our room, which was very nice of them. The whole hotel had no shoes indoor policy and provided slippers, which was also nice and added a nice touch to this being a traditional ryokan. Hotel also offered private sento/public bath that we used without issues that was on first come first serve basis. Complimentary free coffee and water were offered in the hallway. Rooms with both shared and private bathrooms were available with shared bathrooms being a bit cheaper, so make sure you get the right one.
Now, what you should consider. Our hotel room DID NOT HAVE A BIDET, not sure why because it was a major turn down. Walls were thin and sound insulation was poor, so we heard sounds and other commotion. No breakfast or dinner were also offered, even for purchase. Lastly, one of the annoying things was that there was a motion sensor near our bathroom that would turn on with any motion picked up all the way in the main room, so we had to keep door all doors closed. Overall 7/10.

Beautiful tatami rooms and a lovely aroma throughout. In the busy city, I felt the comfort of nature. Very quiet area away from everything, quiet atmosphere and very clean and cozy. Staff was super kind, they speak English very well in case you need assistance.
Walls are a little thin, which only matters when neighbors are settling in, putting down luggage etc, it can slightly break the fantasy lol, but otherwise it’s very quiet all the time. No outside noise like traffic ever enters the property. I think the bathrooms are a bit tiny, this may frustrate very tall or wide people.

Very clean and quiet traditional Japanese hotel, offering tatami floors and futon mattresses. Recent renovations have been done with emphasis on retaining the original design and minimalist interiors. A 15 minute walk to Shibuya station allows you to stay in a quiet corner of Shibuya and sample the local shops. Very nice and helpful Fukudaya team.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent — you can easily walk to central Shibuya, and there’s also a bus stop near the hotel. There’s a 7-Eleven very close by as well. The room was very clean and comfortable!
