Super luxurious hotel with a lot of old world charm. Beautiful gardens and view from the room
Location. Far from the centre of the city and a long walk to the nearest station

Have you previously stayed at a hotel with a 400 year old pagoda (albeit moved from Kyoto) and mist/light shows located on its own private expansive garden? The hotel is spacious (as are the rooms all of which face the garden), formal, opulent with a West meets East flavor. Beautiful old twisted pines in the upper garden terrace. Camelias are the central theme of the garden (Spring bloom).
A little out of the way from the airports. The mist cloud is a bit contrived but certainly a unique effect. It does have a certain formality: we felt under-dressed getting off a bus from Kawaguchi and taking a taxi to the airport to and from there.

Everything about this Hotel simply amazing. It’s comfortable, it’s beautiful and the element of true history behind those walls. The staff is super helpful and friendly, there are various different restaurants inside the hotel to enjoy as well. It has an amazing garden full of historical artifacts

The room was large, and the layout was tasteful. The bed was quite comfortable. The shower hot water came on in only a few seconds, which was great. Turndown service was a nice touch. The gardens were magnificent, and the sea of clouds was a unique experience. The service was impeccable.
Nothing.

Beautiful historical garden; this hotel is famous for a reason. An amazing array of restaurants (although expensive). Impressive artwork in the public spaces.
It’s not cheap. I didn’t expect it to be; any hotel at this level of elegance is going to be pricey. I wouldn’t say that it’s a fortune, but it’s hardly an economic choice. And the location is not that convenient; reasonable central, but you have to take a taxi, or walk to the subway stations — which aren’t on the most desirable subway lines.

Hotel Chinzanso is in a league of its own. Honestly, this property is the definition of perfection. From the moment we arrived, everything—and I mean everything—operated with technical precision. The rooms are spotless, the facilities are gorgeous, and walking through the famous gardens feels like stepping into a serene, private world. If you're looking for an immaculately run luxury hotel, this is it.
But the true magic is the staff. "Hospitality" here means they don't just do their jobs; they genuinely care. Every interaction was warm, friendly, and deeply connecting. It's the little things that turn a comfortable stay into a truly memorable experience.
It’s rare to find a place where the operations are 100% perfect, and the emotional connection with the team is just as high. Do not hesitate to book here. It's worth every penny for a blend of luxury and heartfelt service!
The furnishings are showing some wear and tear. Hopefully a refresh is on the horizon.

Stunning gardens, amazing staff, incredible room with comfortable beds and all the amenities. The auto room shades are a great touch. Turn down service and overall attention to detail was stellar.
The room could use more plugs, for modern use/ computers, chargers, and phones. The hotels in great shape but this small detail could be updated- very few plugs for use in the rooms.

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo sits on a beautiful garden property with a rich and colorful 700-year history, once frequented by notable figures such as former Prime Minister Yamagata Aritomo and Haiku poet Matsuo Basho. Our room was excellent, spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The location is ideal, close to attractions, restaurants, and public transport. We chose the traditional Japanese breakfast, which was beautifully prepared, while Western options were also available. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tokyo.
There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like; everything from the room to the service exceeded our expectations. If anything, the only challenge was having to leave such a beautiful property at the end of our stay!

Wonderful
Loved the garden.
The options for eating with children were not what I had hoped for. And the pool was not open during the time we stayed there...maybe an hour/. I would have liked to use it with my child. It closed at 5pm. In the morning we left to sightsee.
