The room was gorgeous and huge! It had all amenities you could wish for and also a in room hot spring. The location was excellent, especially if you want to see the Ice festival. It is practically next door. Finally, the buffet dinner was superb! We loved the pizza.

The dinner was great! The manager is very friendly and helpful. Appreciate his help a lot.
The breakfast is not perfect. To walk to the breakfast dining hall through corridors in the winter morning is not pleasant.

Wonderful
Although the location is remote, it was a great experience for us. It was indeed a great scenic drive along Lake Shikotsu. The room and staff services were excellent. Most staff can speak good English and we were able to communicate with each other well. The food choices were great. The chef has given my vegetarian friend a great dining of Japanese vegetarian meals. The hotel is located at scenic area abd guests can explore the area, all within walking distance.
I wish the hotel could serve at least one complimentary serving of sake in each dinner, after all we have paid a lot for the stay. I wish I could get more value for the money paid for the stay.

All meals (Kaiseki Dinner and Breakfast Buffet) were great and extraordinary. One of the best in Hokkaido.
Open-Air Bath area in the room needs to be improved somehow.

Wonderful
Exclusive resort with own hot springs and clean and neat changing area, it makes our first hot spring experience less intimidating. We also went for the massage service and it was very relaxing. Meals are superb, the vegetables and seafood are all super fresh and unique. Totally an unforgettable stay.

Very Good
The lobby design brings a lot of relaxation upon entering.
The buffer breakfast and dinner was luxurious
Guests are required to surrender their shoes to the cloakroom upon entering the lobby and their car keys to the valet service at the drop-off point. This policy is in place to ensure a seamless and organized experience. You are given socks to wear within the hotel.

This is a quality property to visit on way back from ski fields. Stayed in room with private onsen which was great to use early mornings or night. The public onsens which also includes outdoor areas are great size and also great facility to use. Room is large, well thought out, and great facilities like a ryokan Food here, both the buffet and kaiseki were exceptional. We enjoyed two kaiseki evening meals with dishes changing each night and well worth the experience (the quality meals are probably half the accommodation cost )The property has nice central lobby area you can relax in. Venue is short walk to lake.
Hard to fault anything

Good
- onsen
- food quality and variety (both dinner and breakfast)
- prime location on the lake
- extra pillow bar with tempur pedic pillows.
- Large Chinese tourist groups.
- Price. This hotel is expensive for what it is. At this price point, in my opinion, it needs to be a lot better than other Hokkaido hotels that cost $300 per night. But right now, I know of at least a few other cheaper hotels in Hokkaido that are almost or just about as good as this one. So this makes me question the value for money here.

Wonderful
Dinner was delicious with high quality food and service. Breakfast buffet had a big variety to choose from. The onsen had many baths and the outdoor bath was beautiful and relaxing. It was a treat to choose desserts from the patisserie and our room had pudding in the fridge. The marsh mellow BBQ at night was fun for the kids.
The room did not have yukata or resort wear in children size. The staff said they would give us but did not follow through. The night time staff at the BBQ seemed tired and not very friendly to children.
