Large windows with views of the river. Breakfast was typical Ryokan buffet and was pretty good, which is average.
I have a tattoo and am an obvious foreigner. I was not allowed to use any of the onsen or spa facilities. Obviously this is a Japanese custom, but it is up to the discretion of the hotel as I have used the onsen in many others without issue. There is no mention of these rules on the website at all. I suppose one could just assume that it will apply but you'd like to think they would be more generous to someone who obviously is not part of Japanese customary culture. On top of this they tried to collect the hot spring tax when I checked out. I did not pay as I didn't use it. All this to say if you are not Japanese you might find this hotel a little "stuffy" and old. Other than that, if you're looking for a Japanese Ryokan you'll get that experience for a price higher than you could get something smaller and better. The breakfast might be the saving grace if you like a big morning meal.

The food was quite a spread and yummy, and the lobby was grand, but that's all that was good unfortunately...
The hotel was very dated and in need of an overhaul. The carpets were badly stained and the condition of the room was below average. The step up to the toilet was also very inconvenient.

A pretty good choice of food on the breakfast and the evening buffet. The Japanese-style room was spacious, quiet, clean and had a nice view. The onsens were great, and so was the lagoon. You could spend hours in there. It was very good value for money.

I had a fantastic stay at Jozankei View Hotel! The highlight is definitely the views—whether you are standing at the entrance, looking out from your room, or soaking in the open-air hot spring bath, the scenery is breathtaking. The hotel is perfectly located right next to the river. ​The food was also a major plus. Both dinner and breakfast offered a variety of Japanese cuisine with so many choices. It is excellent value for the money and I highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

We like the variety of food served for breakfast and dinner and they were delicious! The location of the restaurant is convenient. The hotel shuttle bus picked us up at Sapporo Station on time and that made it convenient to get to your hotel.

Good sized Western room with good amenities. We had half board and the buffets had a very good selection. The Onsen was beautiful with multiple pools, two saunas, steam room, and cool room. There was never a large crowd in the Onsen. Staff was very nice and efficient.
We stayed two nights. The first night the were several very large tour groups which made the buffet area for both breakfast and dinner a madhouse. The second night had fewer people and the dining experience was much more pleasant.

onsen wasn’t very hot and 16th fl had limited space for bathing. also there was no true Japanese New Years mood. no such traditional music at all no crab legs this year but maybe because of Covid (economic reasons)
