Beautiful little Ryokan within walking distance of markets and such. Took a 30 min walk to Gion
Was not clear from booking photos that there were two properties. Expected to have a little more space than we did. Perhaps I did not look closely enough when booking.

The most beautiful house we stayed at in Japan. Loads of beds and room options to allow a family of 6 to travel comfortability. The onsen was great. Loved all the rooms and small gardens. Loves the complimentary tea and coffee and slippers.
It was a lovely place to relax. That is was enjoyable to spend a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. We did find the futon mats were relatively hard for comfort when sleeping ( the beds were fine). But there was enough extra mattess that when you stacked two it felt better.

Amazing property, in a central area! 35 min walk to Gion District. The hosts were amazing! I accidentally left my flat iron there and they were able to send to my other hotel no problem! Highly recommend if you are trying to escape the hustle and bustle, quiet neighborhood.
You can hear the other guests while inside your space but they have a quiet time starting at 10pm.

Incredible accommodation, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Beds are very, very comfortable. We are 6ft and had no issues with the beds and the shower is huge with zero height issues (low points in the home to watch your head on, but this is normal given age of the building, which is all part of the charm)
Beautiful bath (deep and fits 2 very easily), convenient small kitchen and perfect location. Great communication leading up to and during our stay. Highly recommended. Even better in the flesh.

The house was in a great area! Within walking distance of great restaurants, markets and trains. It was also very close to many things we had booked for our trip like a traditional tea ceremony and Samurai museum. Absolutely loved the bathroom! It was very spacious and steamed up nucely
While the house was beautiful, the pictures are slightly misleading. The pictures make it look like it's one big house, while there are two separate properties. It was only when we got there I quickly realized this. While we didn't let it ruin our time in Kyoto, it was disappointing.

no water was provided during the 3 nights of our stay. We had to buy some from the 7/11
Wifi signal very week, hardly possible to work or stream movies

Spacious over two stories with two bedrooms with two futons in one but more betting in cupboards. Large bath area with cedar tub and shower area. Double basins and large mirror. Small kitchenette and dining room. Both bathroom and dining room open to enclosed courtyard gardens . Quiet street . Lovely bars and returns in area

The size was spacious but super cozy. It was a great place for a family of 5. There were 2 toilets and a separate shower bath room which was great.
We all wished there was a full length mirror on the first floor.
