The size of the room for the price was amazing. Staff were friendly and I wish ai could’ve stayed longer in Kyoto.
Couple of things don’t work, I couldn’t get the TV on or the humidifier. The QR to scan for assistance was not working. We were only staying for a couple of days so we didn’t really mind it.

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The suite we stayed in was at the corner and looked down on the Kamo river and north towards Mt. Hiei. The breakfast was also really good!

Room was beautiful and spacious. lots of extra toiletries were provided in the lobby. location to the river was lovely. Onsen was great as well. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Beds were comfortable.
Difficult to use the coin laundry, since other guests would leave their clothes in for extended periods of time after cycle completion. Not the hotel's fault. Just unfortunate behavior from other guests. Minimal hanging space to dry laundry in the room.

Nice bathroom and hotel breakfast was excellent.
Worn/broken, outdated furnishings. Closet wouldn’t stay shut. Not thoroughly cleaned. I found a used tattoo cover on the sofa. The bed was hard as a rock.

Great location in the city, right by the river, and once inside it was wonderfully cool and peaceful. Breakfast buffet was also very good, variety of local specialties and western food which were really appreciated.

This hotel is ideally located near convenient metro access while still feeling pleasantly removed from the bustle and more tourist-heavy areas of Tokyo. I appreciate the experience of staying slightly off the beaten path—it encourages curiosity and discovery—and this neighborhood is perfectly suited for that.
The hotel itself is exceptional: classic in style, beautifully refined, and thoughtfully designed. Our corner room featured full paneled windows on two sides, filling the space with light while maintaining a sense of calm and privacy. The room was quiet and luxurious, complete with a generous soaking tub and a comfortable lounging area that made it easy to fully unwind.
What truly sets this hotel apart is its subtle, intentional approach to hospitality. The facilities are designed to make guests feel genuinely cared for without ever feeling intrusive. A beautifully curated library offering complimentary beverages and snacks was a particularly lovely touch. Toward the end of our journey, I was also able to arrange an in-room shiatsu massage—an incredibly welcome and restorative experience.
I am genuinely in awe of this space and the atmosphere it offers, and I very much look forward to returning on our next trip to Tokyo.

Room was large. Had living sofa area and beds were big. And toilet and bathroom were separated. And location was 1 minute from ex12 of Sanjyo station.
And there are many restaurants around hotel and Kamo river side.

The attractive, consistent minimalist style; bed and bathroom very comfortable, pretty garden outside the window in our room, extra space for sofa, pleasant onsen, very nice breakfast with welcoming staff.
I wish there was an option for wine & snacks in the evening.

Location was perfect, close to multiple train and bus lines and an easy walk to many lovely restaurants and shopping areas. The room was clean and very comfortable, and we loved the separate shower/bath area.
There were only a few washing machines and they were very slow, which wasn't great for a trip where we're trying to spend a lot of time out and about.
