Very Good
Location and balcony, and the welcome drink
The room was a bit small and the sofa bed was already made for the entire stay which was blocking the access to the balcony. It would be helpful if they allowed us to make the bed when needed.

The staff, location everything was excellent. My husband and I loved returning to the Hotel and going to the lounge for lattes before going up to our rooms. We also loved the breakfast buffet that was offered. A little something for everyone. We love this place and will recommend it to everyone.

Wonderful
Central location just 3 min walk from Kyoto Station. May be its low season price is really good, with good amenities including a good welcome drink, and coffee/tea throughout the day. The massage chair is a plus that you can relax anytime. Breakfast was a little bit expensive but food quality was good with a lot of varieties and overall good value for money.
There is no gym.

Hotel location was great for my short visit. Room size was reasonable. Breakfast buffet had so many delicious foods.
Room was quite dim, I wished there was a main room light. Also, each person has a small nightlight, but they're both connected to the same switch. The room door was an exterior door, with the nighttime cold air creeping in. I had to run the heater at a higher fan speed to counteract the cool exterior February air.

Good
The location. Breakfast, free welcome drink and coffee and The onsen.
The open area is very cold when you step outside. The property is also old and tired.

Everything you read about Sakura Terrace The Gallery is true. Staff are so helpful and lovely to deal with. The accomodation is clean, comfortable and spacious. The location is very close to the rail and shops but so quiet with a relaxing environment. The breakfast is amazing!
It is so popular it is difficult to book!

Wonderful
It was a lovely place, good location, they have washing machines you can use. They also have a nice drink bar, treadmills for you exercisers, a sauna, and a cafe like area where you can sit and do work on a computer if you like.

Very Good
Loved the location & amenities. Nice breakfast & light snacks/meals later in the day. Complementary cocktails & public bath facility were all very nice. Room was spacious.
The bathroom had an odor. It was not dirty but there was a funky smell somewhere. Room was very retro 60’s & kind of dark. Could use an update & deep clean.

Disappointing
Water was only mildly warm at best, so no hot showers available.

Very Good
The suitcase transfer to our following destination/hotel was a very easy process. Our first room was not the best and the quick room change and help from the employees was excellent and fast.
The first room that we went to had a strange odor likely from the previous guest. We requested a room change and we were changed to a room. That was much better.

Pleasant
Welcome drinks, breakfast.
Overall, the stay was good. The only issue was with the cleaning service. I stayed for 7 days, and there was supposed to be one full cleaning during that time. However, it wasn’t done properly—no vacuuming or sheet change.
They did empty the trash daily and provided clean towels, but a full cleaning was supposed to happen every 4 days. I even had to remind them about the full cleaning, and when they finally came, they only made the bed without changing the sheets, dusting, or vacuuming.

Wonderful
The first thing that we noticed upon arrival was the stunning central courtyard of the north building. The building was chic and modern, with spacious areas to mingle with other travelers over a complementary evening drink. Most nights, live music accompanied the drinks in the hotel restaurant. The rooms themselves were spacious and comfortable, however some scratches on the walls betrayed that the hotel was built in 2015. Our room had a balcony, which was great to enjoy the complementary tea and coffee from each morning. Sakura Terrace was a great home base for exploring Kyoto!
