I loved the onsen, the overall experience was great and the staff gave us every directive from the start. The room was also great, the mood, decoration made me think about old japan. And of course very clean.
The location is not well linked to stations, but there are many bus, so I don't think it is so important. And maybe the view from our room wasn't great, but we are in a big city, so tall building next to each others... and I believe there is an option to have a small garden.

really relaxing place youre treated well, especially kind with the kids, it really feels like staying in a real old Japanese house, my wife loved the onzen.
The staff were super friendly and helpful.
a bit hard to sleep due to the windows letting light in.
the Japanese breakfast had a lot of tofu.

This was honestly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
The room was comfortable, beautiful, and full of traditional charm, giving us an authentic and memorable experience. The wooden bathtub deserves a special mention—it was absolutely incredible and unlike anything we’ve experienced before. A truly unique and relaxing experience.
We also booked the hotel’s massage service, and it was excellent. It was professional, relaxing, and the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.
What made this stay exceptional, though, was the staff. I genuinely don’t think words can fully describe how kind, caring, and dedicated they were. From the moment we arrived, they did everything possible to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Their warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail went far beyond what anyone could reasonably expect.
One moment that perfectly sums up their level of service happened when we were leaving for our next hotel. A member of the reception team actually went outside and tried to flag down a taxi for us, simply to make our journey easier. That level of care is incredibly rare.
The location is also very convenient, with a bus stop nearby and only about a 15-minute walk from the train station.
If you’re looking for a place with a traditional atmosphere, genuine hospitality, and people who truly care about their guests, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. This is easily one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are truly wonderful, and their kindness made our trip even more memorable. I would gladly stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Wonderful
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Onsen was clean and instructions for use was clear.
Amenities within the room itself were a little lacking - no amenities other than toothbrush and handwash was provided.
Not many power sockets in the room but they do provide a double-plug extension cord.
Not the most convenient location but worth the trade off for the onsen.

Pristine clean and right in the middle of Kyoto where you can access anything to do and see nearby. Beautiful and well maintained ryokan. Rooms have the beautiful traditional feel yet the toilets and showers are modernized
There was nothing bad to say about this place.

I’ve booked only one night to have the ryokan experience. The rooms are so wide and clean. There is a private onsen on the hotel and it was perfect to relax! There was no one on the onsen when I went there. I booked the tradicional Japanese set breakfast and it was so far the best breakfast I had in Japan. It definitely worth it my stay.

Loved the onsen and service of employees
mattresses are very thin on the floor. Also the sheet covering of the duvet always came off if you are a restless sleeper

This Ryokan was the perfect combination of traditional Japanese and modern comfort! The minute we walked in we knew we were going to enjoy the stay.
Staff: All the staff were so friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were given a tour of our room, and a demonstration of how to wear our yukata robes.
Room: We loved our room! Had low expectations knowing that the beds were on the floor, but they were actually quite comfortable and really added to the experience. The bathroom in our room was gorgeous, spacious, and the shower had the best water pressure.
Onsen: We soaked in the on-site onsen every night of our stay, which felt amazing after 20,000+ steps each day! Loved this part of the experience.
Meals: We requested the traditional KAISEKI dinner one night, and the Japanese breakfast one morning. Both set menus were delicious! We wore our yukata robes both times which was fun.
Location: Very convenient, easy walk to Kyoto station.

We loved the welcome we received here from the moment we arrived! What a fabulous traditional we experienced here from the massage to the dinner prepared by your excellent team so appreciative. My son a former chef said it was his most enjoyed meal here in Japan. This visit was memorable for us both after returning to Japan after 25 years ago living here in Yokohama. Chris and Ellen
