Very close to Kyoto Station (so you can access different places more easily. Staff was super friendly and nice. Very clean room & shower room. Have a sink inside the room. There is a steam laundry machine which dries the clothes very fast.
The WiFi was not very stable on the second day when I stayed. I know they tried to fix it, but in the end, it's still not very stable. I did the laundry & the clothes smelled the same as before. They checked the washing machine and there was detergent inside, so I thought maybe it was my clothes being too dirty. Later on, I stayed in another place & did the laundry with the same clothes, and the smell was gone. I'm not sure what happened, maybe I don't know how to use the machine.

The proximity from local transportation is of immense value to us. The staff were quite helpful like Rika and Midori.
The room that we got had an issue with the keycard and it was only fixed the night before we checked out. Also, there is a lingering, distinct smell inside our room.

Great location, very well run ,clean. One of the best hostels I have stayed in. Kitchen was very well equipped and organized.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The location and the vibe of the place were excellent. I like the fact that they try to make everyone comfortable.
The room was tight and it was cramped. It was difficult to move around with 2 people in a room. And regardless of the exhaust fan being on the whole time, there was a certain smell in it.

Really close to Kyoto station. Friendly staff and great common areas/kitchen space. Dorm style but good curtains for privacy and comfortable bedding.
Not a lot of space for everyone's luggage and personal belongings in the dorm room between the beds, but it's to be expected in an large mixed dorm room.

Very Good
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Kyoto with affordable price but the place is very comfortable, especially the staffs are helpful. Nice place not so far from Kyoto Station!

Very confortable hostel, the shared area is enjoyable and cosy, also very well equipped. The staff is also a great side of this hostel, they were all very nice and helpful (and speak english). I loved the japan-themed library a lot, as well as all the preparation to make the guests stay easier (information, recommandation, etc). Also it was nice to have a big locker for suitcases per person. Its also very close from Kyoto station which is convenient to travel around.
The neighborhood is at the same time a + and - to me, as its quite hard to navigate the station area and you often need to cross it through to reach buses and restaurants. Its a very busy area, however the street where the hostel is located is calm with no cars + you dont hear the trains or anything from the rooms

Great location, very quiet rooms, very comfortable bed,nice lounge area at the reception, great ery well equipped kitchen, showers, toilets and other common areas always clean, friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for money.
