The biggest thing we loved about our stay was the space. I was traveling with my mom, my sister and my partner and the room had enough space for everyone which is hard to find in Japan. We enjoyed the tatami area and loved that the toilet and shower area were separate. One big thing we loved was how well air-conditioned the room was which was needed after so much walking throughout the day. We also loved that check-in and check out was simple. Staff was really nice and helpful as well. If you’re looking to stay in the Gion district without being where there’s too much tourists, this is the place to be.
The only thing was the walk to the closest convenience store and train station. Everything else was amazing.

Nice traditional Japanese design. In the middle of Gion. Staff were lovely and helpful.
No kitchenette amenities provided - no plates, cutlery, paper towels, dish soap, etc. No instructions for washing machine despite it being particularly complex washer/dryer.
Air con faced two beds but not into rest of room, so either people sleeping in beds were too cold or people sleeping on futons were too hot.

Very good location. Convienent check in and good security. Room was small but comfortable. Bathroom and shower were very good.
The room being small meant I had to rearrange some furntiture for the japanese style bed.

This was a great room for us! There was a ton of space, including a tatami section where we could sit down at a table and watch TV. After staying in tiny rooms in Tokyo, this room was a welcome relief. The shower’s water pressure was amazing, I wish I had that at home. And the washing machine/dryer combo (it did both functions) was super helpful because of the August heat. This is not a fancy room necessarily, but it’s a very comfortable, clean, and spacious stay a bit out of the most hectic tourist section of Gion.

We had a spacious and comfortable room for a family of four. The bathroom had an amazing shower with perfect water pressure and temperature. The air conditioning was great as it was hot and humid everyday. The location of the Inn is ideal for exploring all of Kyoto either on foot or my train. We liked that it was centrally located but in a quiet area as well.

The room has the best of both world: traditional to Tatami and western bed. It’s great if you don’t need to hang out in the room and just use it for sleeping. The shower was our favorite part has to be the best shower I’ve ever had. The water pressure coming out of the faucet feels so good after a hot sweaty day. The location of this hotel is perfectly central to see the older part of Kyoto and the shopping district. Train station is about 10 minute walk.
