The location, the amenities, the space and communication were all great!
The older middle aged among our group could’ve benefited from more pillow choices ? but it wouldn’t stop us from recommending or staying there again, as everything else was so comfortable and welcoming it was well worth it.

I like that they have a photo of the place, but they key box took us a few seconds longer to find. However it's ok, it's like solving an instruction mystery.
I didn't like that the dryer doesn't work well, so we had to do laundry down the street.

Walking distance to Kyoto Station. Across the bridge from Keihan Railway. Comfortable beds. Indian restaurant across the street delish
Downstairs bedroom requires a heater outside the room in winter. I would be wary of staying with children. Street noise constant.

The house was beautiful and very comfortable. The location is amazing because it’s right next to Shichijo Station, which makes it easy to go up and down Kyoto to explore. There are also lots of restaurants and a 7-11 right next door.
Be careful if you are tall. Some of the beams in the house hang low and I did hit my head on them a couple of times.

Location, convenience to railway. Clean and the decor was traditional, yet with the comforts of modern amenities.
Street noise is present, but not overwhelming.

This was the perfect location for our family of seven. It was a 2 minute walk to a metro train station and a 15-minute walk to Kyoto main station. It had all the amenities needed for a nice family stay.

Convenient as able to access to restaurants, walking distance to Kyoto Station & Nishiki Market
No place for us to hang current used & new clothes when taking shower. There is no mirror in the room for make up when someone using the bathroom.

Machiya was a little gem tucked into a perfect part of Kyoto. We would come back in a heartbeat. It oozed ambience and charm and provided the perfect place to come back to each day. The host was wonderful and communication was terrific. A wonderful experience to have stayed in this Machiya.

Spacious, comfortable, and great location, only ten minutes walk from Kyoto Station, bus lines, restaurants, and other attractions. We appreciated having two showers and two toilets for our family group. We would stay here again.
First floor (master bedroom, living room, kitchen) was much colder than the second floor, so bring warm clothes and socks/slippers if visiting during the winter.

We loved the Japanese style house. The house was perfect for our family of 5, each had their own bed. Bathrooms were spacious with great water pressure. Kitchen had all needed appliances and dishes. Bonus with a washer/dryer combo. Really loved the location, about a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station. 7-11 and restaurants on same street.

Cozy home in a great location. Walkable to many sites but we took taxis only because we had a toddler. Host was very welcoming and even let us check in early!

Everything was as expected - comfortable and clean house in a fantastic location.
It would be helpful to have instructions for the combination washer/dryer in English. It took us a while to even realize that the machine could both wash and dry. There were many buttons and it took us a bunch of Google translating to finally figure out how to run everything properly. There's also a small laundromat with industrial-sized machines within a block down the street that's a great backup when there's a large group all needing to do laundry. BTW, the restaurant next door is an AMAZING yakuniku place where you grill the meats yourself in front of you. It can get way too smoky, but we were still talking about how great the meal was weeks afterward.
