Great place, great location, wonderful host. Everything exceeded our expectations.
If you are tall you just need to be careful. I am 6'1 and clumsy so I hit my head a couple of times.

Natsuki was a great host, made sure we were comfortable and helped us get settled in. She also recommended us to a great kaiseki meal that was one of the highlights of our trip. The property is well stocked, clean, and gorgeous, with a great location. 10/10!

Brilliant location in Higashiyama walking distance to many highlights such as Kiyamizu dera, Yasaka shrine, pagoda and walk across street to head into Gion. We loved staying in a beautiful Japanese home and won’t hesitate to book again. Host met us to give us a nice folder of information and a door code. Handy washing machine/ dryer combo. The home is immaculate and beautifully designed with the cutest pocket garden. The tatami room was much appreciated to hang out in by the family. We loved being able to cook up meals and eating in the kitchen.
Nothing really. Only caveat I would say is if you are super tall- over 6 ft you should watch your head in the upstairs bedroom. The taller ones in our family used the tatami mat room with Japanese futons and that was great’

Location is perfect for exploring Kyoto. The house is stunning and perfectly finished, a mix of traditional and modern. If you find it available for your stay you should book it without hesitation, you won't be disappointed.

Natsuki is a gracious hostess. She met us when we arrived to explain things. She even made a personal itinerary of places to eat and sites to see. We ate at several of her suggestions and they were all wonderful. The location is perfect. About 15 minutes to nearest subway line. From kyoto station we did take a taxi for about 2000 yen (family of 4). The house is beautiful and comfortable. AC and laundry were so helpful given the heat wave happening. We would definitely stay here again if in kyoto.

It is a traditional Japanese house with modern touches that blend in so smoothly, you don’t compromise any of your modern day comfort while enjoying a unique experience. The kids, ages 9 and 10, loved the house so much, now we are planning to build a similar one in our hometown :) Natsuki, the property owner, was very gentle, helpful and friendly. Evet detail was carefully considered in the house. Location was also great, it is walking distance to the Gion area. I recommend here to everyone without hesitation.

It’s our fifth visit to Kyoto, and this house managed by the landlord gave us a very unique experience and the stay itself definitely a highlight of our trip compared to hotel stays. Location is unbeatable with closeness to major supermarkets and bus stations.

I would highly recommend this property. The location was great to stroll the Gion area and it was easy to catch an Uber for farther trips. We loved the traditional style of the house. The property was very clean and you could tell that attention was given to the decor and the products provided. The kitchen and washing machine were helpful. I really appreciated meeting the host and the sample itinerary provided was above and beyond. Thank you for making our stay in Kyoto even better than we imagined!
It's hard to find something we didn't like about the property. The only thing I would mention, is if you have trouble with firm beds, then the upstairs beds may be more firm than you are used too. The sleeping mats used on the first floor are a bit softer.
