Absolutely amazing staff, felt incredibly taken care of. The breakfast was delicious. The room was comfortable and quiet, and the location was great. Will definitely stay here again if visiting Kyoto.
The hotel didn't provide much drinking water in the room, and the water from the room's faucet did not taste good. Also my thermostat was locked at some point somehow (maybe I did it) and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I didn't try calling for help, but I'm sure they would have helped me if I asked. Other than that, it was an excellent hotel that was exceptionally clean and the staff were so kind.

I think the property is very warm and welcoming. Location is pretty walkable for Yasaka Pagoda, Gion etc
Their room service menu is rather limited like 4-5 items and they don’t allow food delivery at reception. I think this is something they should look into. Specially given that a lot of restaurants nearby close at 6 pm, after a long day out some people may not want to head out for a meal.

The breakfast was the best we had in japan. A wide range of Japanese foods that were beautifully prepared and easy on a western breakfast pallet. The Tempura was memorable and worth of the stay alone. The Onsen was quiet and lovely The free cocktail hour was a great punctuation to the day, crowded with Americans, yes, but fun to connect with travelers and have a whisky without working for it.
We booked a suite with 2 large beds and a sofa that should have fit my whole family (me, husband, small child and mother) but on arrival we were told that we needed to book an additional room to fit us all.

Superb location! Loved the shuttle to the train station. The breakfast offerings were fantastic. Really kind staff. The room was thoughtfully laid out and very comfortable. The onsen was a bonus. Loved the interior gardens. Make sure to visit the temple across the street!

Attentive and cheerful staff. Clean rooms and good amenities. Food was good. Shuttle service to and from Kyoto Station.

I booked the hotel primarily for the shuttle which was terrible. The shuttle only comes once an hour and does not start running until about 8:30. Everything we did with our day started before that so it was a wasted service for us. The beds are nice but firm.

Modern the spa and public bath was nice and clean. Everything was new and upscale and kept. Good distance from the train station and other activities.

For the price I really think this hotel can't be beat. The location gives you easy access to many of the historical parts of Kyoto which was priceless for us to see some of the landmarks and neighborhoods without crowds. The staff operates at a 5 star hotel level and the onsen is a nice touch.
