The property was trendy, great ice cream choices, vinyl rentals to listen to in your room were a plus.
Only suggestion for the rooms is an extra pillow.
Travel advice from My experience: Kyoto is overrated, extremely crowded at all the areas you want to see and transportation takes longer as the lines don’t run as frequently as in other places in Japan. So it takes longer to get places and do things outside of shopping.
I recommend day tripping to Kyoto and get a driver for the day and stay in Osaka or somewhere else.

This is a boutique hotel. Not much luxury. It's clean, quite, far from tourist activities. Over all its easy to get to. We just needed a place to sleep for a few days to explore. This fit the bill. Room has a vinyl record player, but I don't think you come to Kyoto to loung and listen to music. After a busy day of exploring its comfortable to get cleaned up and sleep. No laundry. But we only stayed a few days.

there is a super chill atmosphere with a great staff, the lobby is the center of the hotel and the icecream is super fatastic. you can use the kitchenette in the lobby for heating your maals if you want. the collection of records/elpee you can borrow to play at your own turntable in the room is great. its is about 15 min walk away of downtown Kyoto and the central station. we hadden a wunderfull time

Funky vibe hotel, room was very retro but nice, had a record player, we loved the free drinks/snacks and gelato every evening in the lobby during a certain time, the vibe was nice in the lobby too while having a glass of wine on the lounge. Carpark down the road, relatively cheap 700 yen during the day, 300 yen during the night. Staff were young and friendly. Overall, the hotel had a young vibe to it which we enjoyed. Location was good with rental car to certain sites, main shopping mall only a couple of minute's drive down the road. Quiet neighbourhood as expected for Kyoto.
Not a deal breaker but the room was a little dusty especially on the bedhead, desk and window seal upon checking in. Room slightly tight but it was no real issue. We managed with two large suitcases.

The staff was excellent, the music in lobby and record player make this boutique special. Loved nightly ice cream & happy hour, kitchen and available washer/dryer very helpful. Laid back atmosphere! Kyoto station & kujo subway in walking distane
Only negative was size of room- too small for 2 women! Suggest cubbies or shelving on walls- no storage or room for 2 suitcases

The employees and the vibe of the hotel are amazing! However, we had to keep our window open constantly because the room felt very humid. In addition, the bathroom had a weird smell. The location is okay if you like to stay close to the city centre, but not in it.
