VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. The hotel is located 500 meters between two subway stations, so you can walk to either one in about 10 minutes. The hotel room is comfortable but is really bare bone. A queen size bed, a desk, and a small fridge cabinet with a small TV on top of it. That's it...painted concrete walls and ceilings. The bathroom has a bathtub with a cheap shower wand, and the bathroom floor is 30CM high off the bedroom/ hallway floor, not kid or elderly accommodating. There is not much happening in the surrounding area. Just a Lawson's, Family Mart, and 7-Eleven. However, two subway stops away is Kyoto Station (subway hub and shopping).
Nothing in the surrounding neighborhood, including restaurants. All the action is 1500 meters away at Kyoto Station.

Comfortable and cozy japanese style rooms. Very friendly staff. Close to the main Kyoto station. The breakfast was amazing, the staff made us special vegetarian sandwiches. We really enjoyed the vibe of the hotel, would stay here again.

Location: It was less than 1km away from Kyoto Station so it's walkable. There's also a nearby subway about 500m away if you don't want to walk that far. I find this location very convenient and useful especially because I got into Kyoto from KIX and all the buses and trains were already closed. Room: The room was clean, odor-free, and the bath was the standard Japanese-hotel bathroom. Basic amenities were covered such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothbrush and toothpaste, bath towel, razor, hair dryer. Breakfast: Served every morning buffet style.
The breakfast is a bit limited and repetitive, but still tasty and filling. The room is a bit more cramped than I am used to, I found it a little difficult to open my large luggage.

Loved everything about this hotel. The location was excellent 5 minutes walk to kujo station and one stop to Kyoto station. There is Lawson's combini 2 minutes away and a 7/11 five minutes. An excellent cafe right next to Kujo station. The staff were always welcoming and helpful. Love the free bath salts which I used every night after being on my feet all day. Cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. Loved staying here and would highly recommend it.If I return to Kyoto I would definitely stay here again.
Can't think of anything I didn't like! Actually the pillows were a bit hard but seems to be standard for Japan.

Really loved this place. The rooms were a bit more spacious than other places I've stayed at in Japan. The staff spoke very good English and we're really helpful with moving my luggage. On site laundry was great. Close enough to the station. The hotel itself is beautiful to look at with the lobby being a pseudo gallery.
It is a bit of a walk to the station compared to my other stays at Japan. If you are into the late night convenience store runs. The closest is Lawsons and its on the smaller side and the next closest are maybe a 5 to 7 minute walk.

Good breakfast. Good room size.
We didn't like the cleanness of the hotel. Breakfast area was exceptionally clean, but room and hotel facilities, let's say, could be better... Location is a bit challenging. It took us 13-15 min walk to nearest metro or bus station.
