This place needs to improve! This is my first negative review in a long time.
1. We arrived at 2pm (check-in is at 4pm). We sat there and they told us that because we had arrived before check-in, we needed to pay $5 per bag! Then they told us that the room is ready but if we want to check in before, we need to pay $20.00! So....I have never experienced something like this, especially charging us for the bags!!! Lady that works there, realized how shocked we were, so she said " I will let you check in befoThis place needs to improve! Horrible
2. She took us to the room, and then the second shock. Extremely sweaty odor in the room. Stinks like hell. Nothing in the room, no closet, no lamp, nowhere to put clothes or stuff, ..nothing, just two mattresses on the floor! We somehow believe that they used this room for yoga classes on the regularly bases, because it smells like a yoga studio.
3. Location is not as ppl comments. You need to take the bus, which takes you to the train station and from there to downtown or wherever you go, so it takes around 30-40 minutes wherever you go. Be aware of this.
4. The staff are far from friendly.

Good value, clean, quiet. Seemed like a good place for longterm travelers or people remotely.
No hot water either night I stayed, no wifi in my room, zero social atmosphere, people working remotely in the common area. The location is about 40 minutes from the main tourist sights.

the place was really beautiful and clean. it had a comfortable common space and an equipped kitchen.
they want to take your money away from you in every chance they get. they will charge you for leaving your luggage and it is quite expensive. and check in is really late, so i didn’t find that traveler friendly at all. the vibe was just off. also, the private room was just two very thin futon beds in the floor, japanese style i guess. but for the money we paid we expected at least a bed? either way it was a very lovely place but the vibe was so off i would not stay here ever again. when people are all about that “good vibes” and then want to take advantage of travelers it doesn’t feel right.

I never had stayed in a hostel before, and let me tell u ,it was incredible, but my kids told me that not all r like that ,well this one was clean ,the people so very polite, I heard no noise what so ever after I went to bed around 10 pm,the mattress was very comfortable, the location, and I made good friends, it was an experience that I will never forget

it is advertised as a small locally owned guesthouse when really it is a multi-story building with many rooms making it feel more like a budget hotel rather than a homey guesthouse. The staff could definitely be friendlier/more welcoming as well.

It was nice to experience something different and share with other people the common areas. Also was a cozy and warm place to stay.
As for the property, I liked everything. Perhaps some staff members could be friendlier or smile more often. I don't know, maybe it's their culture and I find it shocking for me. And they could get more pins for the world map, because what's the point of taking one from another country :( and putting it in ours? (That was the solution a staff member gave us)

The check-in process was disorganised and some of the advertised features were not occurring (e.g. yoga). Bikes for your were poorly maintained and not easily adjustable

Leaving that place!
The bed mattress did not feel clean, and the showers and toilets were also not properly maintained. If you are offering shared bathrooms and toilets, they need to be kept clean at all times I should not have to see someone else’s wet towel left inside the shower.
Additionally, when a traveler arrives and is clearly looking around, someone should at least say something like “Please wait.” You may be on your break or eating, and that is understandable, but basic acknowledgment is important.
Maybe just maybe the lack of response was influenced by me having a beard and being brown. I am not implying this about the lady who showed us our room; she was kind and welcoming.
