The hotel was very close to Kyoto station which made getting around very easy and convenient. The staff were friendly and helped me ship my luggage to Osaka. The sizing of the room was just right and very clean. Overall, an enjoyable stay for my partner and I.

Very clean and modern hotel that is comfortable for many foreigners and taller people (183cm/6ft+) as the ceiling in the room and the bathroom are taller than many hotels in Japan. Price are great for the hotel and proximity to the Kyoto station. Staff at the entrance and check in desk are very attentive and speaks English well enough for smooth check in and helping you. This is my second visit to this hotel and even my friend who is used to the american style hotel was able to have very satisfying stay.
I believe the room was suppose to come with simple drinks (powdered coffee/tea) since there were cups and kettle but I couldn't find any. Very minor thing that had no impact on rating of this hotel.

Location: super convenient for touring around Kyoto.
Maintaining: We chose the Eco option on room cleaning with our 3 nights stay. The cleaning staffs exchanged new towels and toiletry supplies on time and efficiently every morning.
Room: We booked a 24 square meters room, nicely decorated and cleaned. Fitted our luggage's well. Quiet room. Nice bathroom size with bathtub, however the water on the shower floor seemed never dry overnight which was weird. No bad smell or feeling humid though.
Breakfast was the only downside of our three nights stay at this hotel. Food quality could be better. The staff served the breakfast were very friendly though.
The language skills of the staff at front desk can be improved. However we managed to communicate well. They were nice and helpful.

The overall location, friendly staff, cleanliness was great at Dawia.
The beds were very very uncomfortable. We even had to ask the staff for extra blankets just so we could sleep on the blankets. It felt like we were sleeping on boards.

I liked the breakfast. Good selection. The pajamas as well were comfortable to wear.
Location was near public transport. But please note that searching for the hotel can be quite confusing the first time you exit Kyoto station, because there is another Daiwa Roynet hotel near Kyoto Station. This hotel is in a different area . Make sure you pass through the underground passageway near McDonalds.
