Wonderful
The tatami room had floor seats and a table along with futon for sleeping. Nice view, robes for the onsen, hotel shuttle and close to bus stop to town. Well equipped with hot pot, tea cups, bath items and a safe.
Balcony needed cleaning. Pool needed a refresh and tile cleaning.

Location is far from everywhere else, but if you are with a car it is totally fine. Parking is free and sufficient.

Very clean rooms were big and spacious lovely views.
You had to pay an onsen tax regardless if you used it or not. The pool was okay but the sauna wasn’t on when I was there. Google maps took me an odd way to it and struggled to find it in the dark.

Location to local sites. On site Onsen was great.
Staff were a little rude and made me feel like a true foreigner! Also you had to book restaurant 3 days in advance (we did not know this). Beds were uncomfortable as were the pillows.

The onsen was great . Nice big room with setees as well as bed . Very comfortable .
The name given on booking.com : hakone forest of Verde was not recognised in the town of Gora ...the name used by the actual hotel , bus drivers and locals was Verde no mori . Therefore we got lost and walked to the hotel in the dark ... If the name on booking .com corresponded to the local used name it would have been more helpful. The picture too on the first page isn't a great representation of the hotel which is in fact 6 stories high so locals didn't recognise the hotel from the picture either. If the name had corresponded with Verde no mori there was a free shuttle bus we could have taken from Gora station rather than the hour long uphill walk we took.

Very cool women Onsen - 9 difference pools. Hakone free pass routes ended in this neighborhood.
Location is a little bit far, out in the nowhere.
When we arrived the first day Google showed us to walk by the main road that was unsafe and dangerous. Afterafter checked in, we find out there was a walking path through the Park, it was much better.

Nice views. The shuttle bus was convenient once we knew it existed
Difficult to get to. Some of the staff were unfriendly. I don’t know why they don’t include the onsen tax as part of the initial charge. We almost didn’t have enough cash on us to cover it because it wasn’t mentioned until we checked out.

Absolutely nothing, I didn't listen to the other reviewers. Big mistake! Some of the latest reviews are spot on so do yourself a favor and listen to them and this one.
Where do I begin? First, this place costs me money, I had some work to do while there but the internet didn't work. I would toggle wifi on and off, it work work for 45 seconds and drop me. I had to purchase more data through my company to get job done.
Second it was very dated and filthy. Bedspread was stained, room had a smell that leaving sliding door open never helped with. The hallway smelled, the carpets are dated and dirty. Don't go into the stairwell, the carpets are filthy with spills everywhere. The walls in hallway have what looks like smoke grime on them as they have a yellow tint. When I woke in the morning I had a beautiful view of weeds! The grounds are not being kept up at all.
There is absolutely no money going back into the place at all. I mean a coat of paint isn't that expensive.
The towels are small and old. You have to use your small old bath towel in both your room and the Onsen.
If you get in late and want breakfast, to bad you have to order it before 5pm evening before. Honestly place was so dirty I wouldn't eat there anyway.
I went to the Onsen, while there relaxing I thought that just maybe it might be worth the cost, until I looked up and seen black and green mold growing on the ceiling. Large chunks! I left and didn't go back.
Even if it was cleaner, If you happen to be handicap or physically challenged in any way, do not stay here. To many stairs to get to Onsen and absolutely no green bars or anything.
Because I was having mobility issues while I was there I asked for late checkout of just one hour. I thought they understood until 1010am and they called me talking in Japanese. I could tell that they wanted me out. I started getting ready to leave and 10 mins later the house cleaning walked into my room without knocking!!!!!

Very spacious rooms by Japanese standards. A dated hotel, but very clean and has everything one needs. Onsen included.
Table tennis for 500 yen? Could be free for guests. Shuttle buses and also regular ones stop around 18.
