The staff were amazing, they went out of their way to help with an allergy we had. The food was exceptional, so varied and plentiful. Authentic Onsen and room were there to top it off. Can't say how good the whole experience was. A fabulous location

The location was absolutely marvelous—I still can’t get the view from our room out of my mind. Waking up to such scenery felt almost unreal. The food was delicious, with every dish thoughtfully prepared, and the private onsen was truly the highlight of our stay. It made the whole experience feel peaceful, intimate, and unforgettable.

A really authentic experience overall. The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was spacious, clean, and had a nice view. We also loved how close it was to the cable car and ropeway, which made it easy to get to some great attractions.
The traditional breakfast and dinner were both excellent, and having them served in the room was a nice touch. The onsens were lovely—especially the outdoor baths with a view.
Two of the onsens (including the private one) feel a bit outdated, while the third has been renovated and it definitely shows

The onsen is really special with an amazing view; The food was great. The location is very good as it is a 3 minute walk from the cable car / train / bus connection.

I enjoy the location of the Ryuokan. Very close to public transit! Dinner and breakfast were amazing. I enjoyed every aspect of it. Wish I had cash to get a massage from the staff there. Thank you to the wonderful service

Kaiseki dinner and breakfast was wonderful. Note that dinner is served at either 6pm or 6:30pm in your room. Your group can dine together even if you have multiple rooms.

Disappointing
Loved the views from hot spring and my room. Staff was super nice. Location is by the bus and it’s easy to travel to museums from there. Was convenient for my one full day going out to museums. Being tattoo friendly is what got me there.
There’s mold on the tubes of the showers in the onsen. The food is straight up just not great. Not worth the price at all. There was also mold in the dehumidifier or humidifier in my room which was nasty.

Really enjoyed my time here. Great location, walking distance to the Hakone gondola. Facilities are good, its a typical Ryokan, so if you are into Japanese style living you will definitely enjoy it. Food was amazing. In room toilet and shower are very standard, but hardly used it as the natural hotspring onsen was amazing. Very lovely staff as well.

The onses baths were nice and they did seem clean enough.
The room was not very nice. The mats for sleeping on the floor were terrible. I felt like I was camping and sleeping on hard ground. The bathroom in our room was terrible. It was like the bathroom in a camper...not that clean. I would not shower in the room. The meals were very traditional and similar both for dinner and lunch. I didn't care for them, but my husband liked the food.

Very authentic experience. The staff were kind and helpful. We asked for vegeterian meals without a previous notice and they worked hard to make it happen for us. The room was big and clean with fantastic view. Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at this traditional ryokan. Our rooms were very spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The indoor and outdoor onsen baths were a treat and the food was delicious. We greatly enjoyed having the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast served to us in in our room.
We stayed on the top floor with our own private onsen. Unfortunately the water was lukewarm, so we opted to use the other gender specific baths downstairs instead. The only other very minor item is that the provided slippers were difficult to walk in, so walking up and down the stairs is a challenge.

Very Good
Very traditional ryokan providing authentic Japanese ryokan experience. Dinner was excellent, with many different kinds of dishes in kaiseki style beautifully presented.
The facility is definitely a bit dated and can use some updates. However, the flip side is that it gives an ancient Japanese vibe.
