Lovely location, wonderful indoor and outdoor Onsens, incredible staff, dinner and breakfast was very filling and of high-quality.
If you are not familiar with traditional Japanese KAISEKI meals then familiarize yourself before you order. I love fish for breakfast, but not everyone does!

Onsen. Beautiful private hot spring bath, suit couple. View of mountains and cherry blossom. Beautiful room and accessories. Comfortable twin beds. The traditional dinner and breakfast presented in our room was huge with a vast variety to sample. Approx 20 min walk from train station/ bus stop which is end of the shops in town. Hakone is a lovely little town.

The location was great! Super close to a beautiful Hiei waterfall and close to Hakone Yumoto station. Shops are close as well. The rooms are massive, staff is super kind, they have even led us to our room, explained what is where. Yukatas provided for use in the hotel were cute, there was even tea set for a small room tea ceremony. A public onsen is available. Everything was perfect. Traditional japanese beds were an interesting experience

The property was a great mixture of old and new. Overall, I would say the staff courtesy exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean and comfortable. There are 2 onsens in the property (1 outdoor and 1 indoor) although I visited only one of them and enjoyed it.
Special mention for the dinner and breakfast that I had included in our booking - the food was top notch.

I liked everything. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was delicious and diverse. The room was luxurious. The atmosphere was serene.

The dinners at Senkei were awesome. There was a mixture of a lot of different types of food available. The staff were friendly and helpful. They offered to setup the shuttle to the station in the moring for us every morning. Breakfast was waiting for us every morning.
The private onsen was not hot and we weren't sure how to heat it up. It is an older hotel so the heating units didn't heat the bathroom. Everything was still excellent and would want to stay here again.

Kaiseki breakfast and dinner were absolutely incredible. They felt very traditional and were delicious. The staff were all so kind, friendly, and helpful. The facilities were amazing and we loved the public/shared onsen, which was very relaxing. We also booked a room that had a private open air onsen, which was definitely worth it.

We enjoyed very much the traditional japanese room, the half board traditional dishes served in the room, and both indoor and outdoor bath. We had the opportunity to try the beautiful yukata. The staff is very helpful and friendly. All in all an extraordinary experience!
Maybe it's normal for traditional Ryokan, but we would have liked a couple of more hooks in the room. Also it would be nice to have small additional towels to use in the bathroom, beside the ones for the bath.

Beautiful hotel, good location, excellent staff. Room was comfortable. Japanese dinner and breakfast were a great experience I only recommend to people who will try anything. Both public onsens are beautiful but we were especially enamored by the open air one.
We paid for the private bath in our room, but we were disappointed by how cold the water was. There is hot water slowly trickling from the faucet but it wasn't enough to keep the bath hot. As soon as you get in all the water at the top spills out so you're left with pretty cool water. We ended up only using this once and sticking to the public ones.
