The rooms were absolutely beautiful, including the private onsen. Also the skincare included in the room was really nice. The dinner and breakfast meal were both delicious, and the staff were all so attentive and so friendly. Also the chef and staff were extremely accommodating to allergies.
Only negative thing I can comment on is that the gift shop and hangout/bar area close a bit early each evening.

The only good thing about this stay was the relaxing atmosphere and the attention to detail in the food.
It was insanely expensive, about $1000/night and it was not worth that high price. The “spa” was such a let down. I booked massages thinking (based on the website’s menu) that they’d be in a facility with fancy oils. I was shocked when they sent two older ladies to come to our room to massage us. They had us lay down on our uncomfortable beds with our clothes and proceeded to “massage.” However it was more like pats with a cloth for 90 mins in various contorted positions that left my neck stiff. I was so upset and disappointed by this stay. I booked one night for our wedding anniversary and last night in Japan thinking it would be a relaxing end to the trip. Unfortunately it was such a let down. I wish I just booked a fancy hotel in tokyo with a spa for this amount of money. It would’ve been much more convenient too, considering how much of a trek it is to get to this location in Hakone. UGH.

This stay was absolutely incredible. The property is secluded and quiet. While I sure there were other guests at the spa I didn’t see anyone else. Relaxing and private
Getting a cab can be tricky and you might need to take a bus. It’s fairly easy but can get crowded especially if you have a large suitcase.

It is easy to get to the hotel.
The AC was not working properly. The staff just reassured us that it was working and we should wait. However, we waited for hours and hours and it still didn’t cool down. I had to open the window to let in the cool air. Despite having a window screen, mosquitoes still manage to enter the room.

A room was prepared on time of our arrival. We have checked in and room amenities were explained by stuff. Any questions were answred on the spot without any delay. Drinks were available both in room and in hallway.
There was not particular thing we have disliked. The only issue we might bring up is getting to hotel by bus (50 minutes from odawara station) but it is not that bad if you join your stay with tour around Hakone

friendly staff, 2mins walk to a bus stop where you can take shuttle bus&public bus to attractions, quite and beautiful environment where each room has a private dining room.
some facilities are not maintained very well…
