The onsen, the sleeping on the floor. It is a good place to slow down and enjoy nature.
Shower is outdated, but you don’t really need it because you use the onsen.

Room was traditional Japanese, you make your own futon, view when the cloud disappeared was great.
As I have a full arm tattoo it was too difficult to cover up so I couldn't use the hot springs. Its 2026, time to get over the tattoo thing, I think.

Fiji is amazing. The food was delicious. Female onsen was amazing out under the stars.

The hotel is located right at Ubako ropeway station, reachable by a side trail. You can even walk to or from Lake Ashi if you're feeling adventurous. I stayed in a room with Mt. Fuji view and wasn't disappointed, woken up very early to catch the clear skies and the view is magnificent! The room was very comfortable and big, and the onsen bath was very relaxing and also provided an excellent view. Dinner and breakfast buffet were provided at the restaurant, with a large array of food to choose from. Staff was also very helpful in explaining how to navigate the hotel facilities.
The shower stall didn't have a bathtub, which shouldn't be an issue if you're getting into the onsen bath anyway.

i have no words to describe how amazing the onsen experience was.
specially at the end of the day, with the fuji on the golden hour - truly magnificent.
breakfast and dinner were very good, great options overall
it’s not very easy to explore Hakone from the hotel, but nothing that ruined the experience, just requires more planning :)

Perfect location for viewing Fuji Mountain from the garden, the outdoor hot spring bath and directly from our room. Good food for dinner and breakfast. Truly spacious room — the best in our entire trip.

The room had enough place and having a private hot spring was awesome. The public hot spring was also wonderful and we were lucky that Mt Fuji appeared!

The view of Mt. Fuji directly from our room when the clouds cleared up the next morning was absolutely GORGEOUS!
The public outdoor onsen was sublime. For those that have not been nude in front of strangers before should get comfortable with the idea because it is mandatory. It's split by gender so one side for the men and one for the women.
The FOOD was delicious! So much variety from a both a dinner buffet AND a breakfast buffet!

my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel Green Plaza, The onsen was nice and relaxing and the perfect way to either start or end or day. The breakfast and dinner buffet are out was satisfying.

Pretty easy to get to, despite a roundabout route; very comfortable room, and quite spacious; nice bathroom and shower. The meals were good if not great, but I think they were cooking for least a hundred and twenty guests (buffet style), so they really did pretty well. An easy one-stop gondola ride to Lake Ashi.
Hotel rooms in Japan seem routinely to be "too warm" – here, I just couldn't find a thermostat anywhere.
But the Big Minus was that we never got to see Mt Fuji... :) just too cloudy!
But seriously, very few negatives here.

The hotel was quite a pleasant surprise. It was a 2-3 minute walk from the Ubako bus stop. It was very clean (premises and room). We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious our room was. Staff was very professional and helpful. As in most Japanese hotels, there were quite a few essentials and some, which were provided for free at the lobby.
Its location is perfect for rest and relaxation with nature all around you. There are really no stores nearby except for the shop next to the hotel lobby. But, we did purchase a Hakone Pass to allow access to most public and sightseeing transportation so that worked for us. The view of Mt. Fuji on a clear day was just perfect. The hotel was even considerate enough to set up a selfie stand for photo ops of Mt. Fuji in the background.
The temperature in the room is set to warm, almost hot but we soon discovered that if we just turned off the fan, then the temperature was just right. Hotel also provided information on why the temperature was set as such.
Wi-fi was reliable. The buffet breakfast and dinner included in the price of the room was of good value. Since the choices on the buffet were the same every day during our stay, it was a matter of pacing oneself as to what one picked for each meal.
The onsen was a new experience which we took advantage of everyday. We loved the Yukatas which were provided and found it so convenient and relaxing that we could wear it even in the public areas.
Can't think of anything negative to say.

The property is a bit dated, but it was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The onsen was terrific. Loved the view of Mt Fuji while soaking in the onsen before breakfast!
There is nothing in the area in terms of shopping or restaurants so coming by car is advised.

Onsen, Fuji view and cleanliness of the hotel
We arrived at 11 am. And had to wait until 15:00 exact time in the lobby. However the rooms were ready, we could be given our rooms earlier. Instead of making us wait and sit in the lobby for 4 hours.
