Staff were quite polite, it appeared the whole property is managed by 2 old people. Rooms were big and was a traditional Japanese setup
It was a scariest part of how we reached the room. We arrived at Kowakudini train station around 9pm and the way from the station to hotel is pitch dark and not a single soul in the entire path. Its hilly path and thankfully we didnt had lots of luggage to carry. I think hotel could have done better job by either providing information to reach early or to offer shuttle service which other hotels had offered. I would suggest to avoid this hotel unless you have own transportation.

Very clean and comfortable and spacious tatami room, almost perfect
wasnt aware that the breakfast included is not japanese ryokan style breakfast.. The location wasnt ideal for walking: there is steep slope to get to nearest bus stop

Room was spacious and very comfortable. I love the feel of the room very much. Onsen was so amazing! I was so lucky to stay on weekdays, when the place was so quiet, and I had the big public Onsen for myself. I love they let us use their robes freely. Staff was very nice and friendly too. It's also a bonus that there was beautiful park right in front of the hotel called Horaien. I was able to enjoy the beautiful, serene walk first in the morning!
Room was a little chilly, but there is no way of adjusting the temperature in the room since it's controlled by the entire building. There was no elevator which didn't cause the problem since I stayed on the first floor, but it may be a problem for others with heavy luggage or wheelchair.
