Very Good
Incredible view towards Mt Fuji and the lake. Comfortable large bed. Clean room.
The Hotel is dated - needs revamping.
The food/dinner in the bar I’m afraid it wasn't quite what we expected, the duck was dry the potato ships was soggy. The mushroom soup was a clear tasty soup, but it was a very small portion with hardly any mushroom in it.
The shower above the bath - no matter how careful we were there was always a puddle of water on the floor.

Kawai and everyone at the reception desk was exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was elegant and delicious. The room was large with a spectacular view of Lake Ashi. There aren't too many restaurants in the area but we discovered a mom and pop shabu shabu just a couple of blocks away that was wonderful. There's a ferry right next to the hotel that takes you across the lake to the ropeway. The Hakone shrine is a quick bus ride away. Overall it was a wonderful stay. I highly recommend visiting the Hakone Open Air Museum.
The bus ride from the train station to the hotel is very long.

Very Good
Very comfortable room with a lovely view. Great breakfast with many many options.
The food offered at lunch and dinner was terrible. Fatty pork, tasteless tiny sides and terribly high prices for said horrible food. We were a group of four, which all ordered different dishes and they were all bad.

Wonderful
The view is great, the Hotel is comfortable and the staff is super nice. The public bath was also a very nice bonus. We had a very good stay.
The food at the bar was pretty bad, we ordered a salad and there was one cherry tomato in it (and it was a fairly expensive salad, especially considering there was almost nothing in it besides green leaves).

Despite the language barrier, the elderly gentleman at the front desk made great efforts to communicate with us using English and translation apps. His service was warm and attentive. As we arrived late and missed the welcome drink, the hotel kindly upgraded us to a high-floor lake-view room. The view was stunning, and the room and bathroom were very spacious by Japanese standards.
The first-floor lounge offers a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji, and the staff were very welcoming. The private harbor plaza is perfect for photos, and a phone stand is provided — great for solo travelers.
The room is modern and well-equipped, with a capsule coffee/tea machine (flavorful and not too sweet), Netflix, YouTube, and a SONY Bluetooth speaker. Breakfast includes one main dish plus buffet access, with excellent quality and service. There is also a convenient paid luggage delivery service to Hakone-Yumoto.

The location was right in front of a bus stop as well as by one of the pirate ships. The beds were very comfortable. All the onsen spas were lovely. The breakfast was tasty and had great options. The staff were also very kind and helpful.
This is less about the hotel and more about Hakone but after 7pm there are limited to no food options around. If you arrive late and don’t plan on eating at the hotel restaurant I suggest you pick up food before. We ended up eating at the 7/11 which was a 15ish walk from the hotel.

Beautiful view on a clear day we could see Mt. Fuji! Staff was welcoming. Happy hour only consisted of one drink option but other than that we had a nice time.

Location with Lake Ashi on one side, bus stops on other side and cruise pier nearby; spacious and comfortable lakeside room with views of Mt Fuji; onsen with hot springs water and open ceiling for view of moon; breakfast options for vegetarians; welcome drink in lounge; front desk graciously helped me retrieve a lost item

Poor
The lake view was good.
We booked this hotel because of the view. However the room smells bad and the shower curtain is dirty and smells. The breakfast was ok but they don't change table cloth after being used by previous customers, although it appears the table cloth is changed daily. The stuff at check out was very rude and almost had no communication with us after we said we are checking out. Not even say thank you and how was your stay. Totally unacceptable! We will not be return for sure.

The facilities were beautiful, with 2 onsens on site, and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The hotel was right on the lake, which was lovely to see in the morning, and conveniently right next to the sightseeing ship that left for the other 2 ports.
Meals were nothing special.
