We really enjoyed our stay at Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori. The hotel is super well located, 2 min walk to the Togendai Station, so super convenient to take the pirate cruise or the ropeway. The hotel offers fixed schedule shuttle to the Odawara station, but there is also a direct public bus between Odawara station and Togenda station that is super convenient. Our room is a standard room facing the lake and the view is amazing. Breakfast and dinner are both super good, with a great selection of alcohol and drinks. The private onsen is amazing. This is a fantastic hotel!

Everything was great! Great selection for dinner and breakfast and complementary variety of alcoholic beverages a nice surprise. Onsen was great and rooms fantastic. Foot bath near lobby was fun too.
Hakone is a gorgeous but challenging place to navigate, especially with public transit. This hotel offers shuttle service to Odawara…priceless! Hotel should communicate this very clearly in offers to potential clients.

The meal reservations was easy and the food was fantastic and plentiful. The property is beautiful and located directly opposite the Funicular and the Pirate ship, which makes it easy to get to the sights. It's also a short walk into town with some great restaurants. Overall, a great property.
Unfortunately I thought the bedding for the children in our room could have been a little more robust / comfortable. They are very small rooms, though we did fit comfortably. I also wish there were instructions available for the robes and slippers provided in the rooms. We saw some folks wearing them around the property and I would have loved to do the same, had I known what was appropriate attire.

Room, dinner and breakfast all were great. The hotel was by the lake and in 2-3 min walking distance to the bus station. The cable car is also in 2-3 min walking distance.
The shuttle service to the train station had very limited seating. It would be better to offer more frequent shuttles with greater seating capacity.

Nicely situated on Lake Ashinoko. Well designed and beautifully detailed. Well staffed and very accommodating. Spa was lovely with a combination of indoor and outdoor baths. Breakfast and dinner were bountiful, nicely presented, and good. Wine, beer and cocktails were included with dinner. Shuttle to Odawara was a plus.
Space for bags, hanging clothes, and toiletries in room is modest. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style and can be very hectic and crowded at peak times.

Great location near the pirate boat port and tram station. Rooms were nice and clean. Service was excellent. We had a private onset which was great. Rooms were a bit cramped but we didn’t spend a lot of time there so it wasn’t a big issue for us.
The breakfast and dinner buffets had a wide variety of food and great selection. Only issue was it was hard to find food served hot as most were room temperature.

If you are not used to going to public onsen, you can book a private onsen as we did. It's great. the buffet dinner is delicious, and the atmosphere is peaceful and beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The location is good, it's walkable to Togendai station.
The open-air hot bath is quite small and can only accommodate one person at a time. Our room faced the car park side, and the open-air bath area was fully enclosed for privacy, so there were no views. During our stay, there was some construction work going on, which made it a bit noisy at times, though still acceptable. The noise stopped by sunset.

Exceptional experience from start to finish — outstanding onsen, incredible massage, and a fantastic buffet. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was deeply calming. The views of Lake Ashi are absolutely insane, and having the pirate boat dock right there is a huge bonus. Easily the best side of the lake.

Room was comfy. Location is great, right on the lake. Buffet was delicious!
Only comment would be the limited shuttle capacity to Odawara station. There are only 3 per day and if you dont reserve your shuttle more than a day in advance, you likely won't be able to use the service. We ended up taking the public bus, but it was awkward with luggage and the bus was packed by the time we got to the station. It would have been nice to have been able to utilize the shuttle service.

INCREDIBLE RESORT!! This hotel is beyond perfect. The view is wonderful, the food is unbelievable (in quality, variety, and quantity), the onsen is very nice, the rooms are very comfortable, the location is great. They give you beautiful Yukatas to wear, and all the needed ameneries. The hotel exceeded all our expectations, really. We had an amazing time, I highly recommend it!
