The private onset bath!
The dinner and breakfast are nice but seems scale back a lot from previous years and only can say they are acceptable but far from exceptional.

Came mainly for the view and private onsen. I think it was on the pricier side but we really enjoyed our stay.
A couple of the dishes werent to my taste (overall the food was good though). Also I wish we didnt have to talk to staff to collect our outside shoes - it felt overly formal like we were putting staff out (maybe their could be cubbies in the lobby instead?).

Onsen was amazing with an incredible view - we enjoyed both on the terrace. The room was very comfortable and spacious, in a traditional style. You could see the signs of aging and marks on the wood work, but perhaps the owners decided to leave the original woodwork and panels in, which we actually liked. We had a great night sleep and wished we had more time to enjoy the room, as we only booked one night. Compared to the other inns and hotels in the area we felt that it was very reasonably priced. Staff was extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating - they were happy to change a couple of breakfast options due to my partners food intolerance at a late notice. Overall, we had a great and memorable stay.
Nothing stands out in my memory, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it to other travellers.

The private onsen in the room was great. Also the room and the faciliies in there was nice as well. Staff was very accomadating and helpful. If you need your luggage shipped, they will ship it for you (you still need to pay for the service).
The food served at dinner wasn't good. Every course felt somewhat lacking in taste. For example one of the dishes was a grilled salmon, but the salmon texture felt like I was eating something powdery. It was really dry. Another fish dish that came on a spoon had a lot of bones in it. Would have really liked for the staff serving it to give me a heads up.

The private bath in the room was a real highlight. The staff are all incredibly helpful - special mention to the barman Shirou who was great company!
The food was good but the standard in Japan is so high I actually wish wed had the option to eat elsewhere. The only other problem was the room lacked any really comfortable areas to lounge - not a criticism really just something to be aware of.

Amazing place. Stayed here as part of our honeymoon. Loved the private onsen. Definitely worth getting if you can afford it. The Japanese breakfast and dinner option takes some getting used to if you're familiar with a Western palette, however absolutely worth a try!
