The AC in the room was not working, but the staff brought up a portable AC unit/fan for our room that made the stay bearable. It was HOT without being able to open the windows.

Breakfast was great with lots of variety. Highly recommend.
Everything was great - location, facilities, staff. However, I'm giving an honest review regarding one specific gentleman - grey hair, glasses, front desk staff. I admit that I was not easy to deal with, but to stare at me with what I assume was threatening eyes was completely unacceptable. De-escalation is key in the hotel industry and I would like to give my gratitude to the other gentleman who did his best to get me out of the situation. Highly unprofessional, especially at that age - I would assume he's been working in this industry for a long time.

Great location, directly adjacent Kokura Station. Fabulous rooms, restaurants, and tremendous breakfast at a decent price. Staff was absolutely fabulous.
The rooms are a bit dated, but overall a great stay.

The bed, the pillows and all the towels were super comfortable. The location is great and the breakfast was amazing.
The carpets were old. The room was very hot but the staff were very helpful and provided a cooling fan.

Impeccable service, courteous and helpful staff; delicious breakfast served at its more exclusive top floor; spacious room with an amazing view; great swimming pool; perfect location as a base to visit Mojiko and Shimonoseki as well. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The lobby area on the first and second floors could see some improvement to make it more welcoming and lively.

Poort management: When I checked in I have requested to provide receipt total for my stay and other room booked for my colleague for the conference, that I paid in total. But during checkout, the staff was poor and could not provide me with the receipt in total, keeping my waiting for more that 15 min. At the end he could not provide correct receipt. This was due to poor experience of such stafff.

The buffet breakfast was Japanese style and tasty. However the menu is the same everyday.
The rugs were a little worn out and stained.
