Looked dirty my room was a smoker room I could smell cigarettes. There two beds but you can’t have room for a suitcase. The fridge location can hardly open it. The room too small for two beds

Disappointing
Other than the price paid is low, there are not much I like about this hotel. This is an old hotel, worn out building. Can only expect the very basic.
The so-called non-smoking room has a heavy smell of smoke, when I asked for another room, there isn't one that is really smoke free. For the breakfast, you can only have 2 small buns, one egg and a drink, you cannot have more.

Friendly, efficient staff and good location. Love the nearby gardens, Art Museum and eating options. Good atmosphere.
Little room to move but that was ok. However, the bathroom was so small the toilet was not easy to use but there were also loos in the reception area.

Exceptional
The location of the Hotel is conviniently located near the subway station Ohori Park. The rooms are spacious. The Hotel is a bit old, but the prices are excellent, it has a very good Value-for-Money Ratio. I recommend it mostly to people that travel alone. I like the Japanese Room option where you sleep on a Futon on Tatami-Mats.

Old room with a terrible smell of smoke from 50 years ago (they never told us it was a smoking room in advance). It was the worst stay we had in Japan.

Good
The location is quite good, 30 min by foot from Tenjin station. Also a very big nice park nearby. You get a simple complimentary breakfast (a bag with 2 breads, boiled eggs, instant soup, juice and coffee). I enjoyed sleeping in the tatami room.
The interior is a bit worn, stains on carpets and walls.
