I was a bit worried how to get there from Venice, but there wasn't any problem.

Wonderful
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved that there were sweet and savory options for breakfast. Great coffee! Free bike use was a wonderful addition. Walking distance to the little beach was a perk.
Beds are very very firm. Design of shower stall led to some "flooding."

Loved the location and the value. It was a lovely island and great property to retreat to after being in Venice. The brick oven pizzas were amazing and such a great value. We ate them every night. The breakfast was also very nice and included a lot of things, including made to order coffee and cappuccinos. Because you have to purchase the water bus tickets to stay there it really makes you get out to the other islands like Murano and Burano. We went to multiple islands every day. I also love that the hotel had the free bicycles to use to ride around the island. They worked great. The people that worked at the property were so nice. And they pick you up and take you back to the water bus stop when you arrive and leave. The water buses also go all night long so you can get to St. Erasmo and Venice all night.
The beds were very firm but I was still able to get a good sleep and my back didn’t hurt.

Wonderful
It was a quiet place to end the day. In a rural setting with easy access to water taxis. After a busy day visiting the rest of the island, the day slowed down, relaxed with few cars, fewer people and access to bicycles that gave you easy access to the whole island.
There are very few eating options on the island. Though they make a great wood fired pizza on site. Biggest problem is the mosquitos.

Very Poor
Nothing, was not able to stay due to por management of the property
Complete miscommunication, they give instructions on how to arrive, but when it’s completely inaccessible since the property is far far away from any station, they are unable to provide any instructions on how to manage their booking, even with extraordinary circumstances like nation strikes, the property should be understanding that people arriving sometimes are not from Italy, and don’t know how the strike system works and alternative routes, and this should be something that the property should have attended and explained before the booking to plan ahead, this time I had to book somewhere else on the same day and they are unable to give me a refund because “there was alternative routes” that they did not mention and expect that any foreigner knows them. Bad experience overall, would never recommend the place.

First of all, the setting was beautiful. We wish we’d been able to spend a full day here; we were just an overnight. Peaceful, green island (Sant’Erasmo) with very little traffic. After a 7-hour train ride from Salzburg and a 30 minute walk through Venice, the water taxi was an opportunity to relax before arriving (about a 25-minute ride from Fondamente Nove on Line 13). The free hotel shuttle picked us up from the dock (you need to call them when at F. Nove to let them know you need the pickup).
The room had king and twin beds, a wonderful shower, and a balcony. The balcony was gorgeous to sit out in the morning as the sun rose. We took the free bikes out around the island and it was the high point of a busy trip! Breakfast was delicious buffet with a variety of sweet and savory food, and a sweet lady makes you cappuccinos or anything else you want, also free. For dinner, there is delicious and inexpensive stone-fired pizza in about 10 varieties.
The beds are firm but comfortable. The decor is older but charming. For the price paid, unbeatable value. A calm and beautiful respite from the busyness of the mainland.
Small things, like the pillows were flat, and you have to reserve dinner in advance (served at 8pm) to be able to eat. However if you don’t reserve dinner, just make sure to get there before 8pm and order a few pizzas- you won’t regret it! Bring bug spray for mosquitos outside at night. As you can see these are small things- it was a wonderful stay.

I loved my stay at Il Lato Azzurro. The hotel and rooms are exactly as they appear in the listing, which I really appreciated. It feels like staying at a welcoming family farmhouse, with a warm, relaxed atmosphere that is delightfully different from Venice, even though the water bus is nearby and makes it easy to get back and forth.
The island feels quiet, rural, and removed in the best way. It was a lovely contrast to the busier parts of Venice, and I enjoyed everything about my stay.
One helpful tip for future guests: if you are not planning to eat dinner in the city, make a dinner reservation at the hotel earlier in the day. The hotel’s 8pm dinner is the only place to eat on the island, and it is worth planning ahead for.

It was lovely - great breakfast, great views, and such a unique way to visit Venice. The people were lovely and even picked us up and dropped us to the boat dock a couple of the days.
Only complaint was that my bed was quite creaky so I struggled to sleep but I just swapped it with another bed in the room - besides that nothing to fault at all!

Wonderful
A very colorful hotel is located on a separate island, 30 minutes away by public boat from Venice. Comfortable bed, clean room, large balcony, very good breakfast, friendly staff, you can take a bike and go to see the whole island
Since the room was on the top floor, the bathroom is located under the roof, it was uncomfortable to take a shower

The Island of Saint Erasmo is a quiet and natural retreat from the busyness of the main island and this property is a very welcoming sanctuary for those who would share its calm. Be prepared to walk either a mile or a quarter mile to get here from Caponne or Massimiliano on the 13 or 18 water lines. Be prepared to enjoy wildflowers, farmland, birds and beach on foot or bicycle and have everyone greet or wave to you along the way.
The rooms are basic, clean and very comfortable and there are no televisions. There is a large porch from which you can see the mainland as well as the picnic tables next to the pizza oven. Breakfast is very well done with probably the best pancakes I’ve ever had, salami, cheese, freshly cut watermelon, juice, yogurt, lots of pastries and made to order cappuccino by Michaela and Francesca, both very kind. Giuseppe minds reception and is exceptionally helpful in his manner. The pizza oven is open from 1200-2000and dinner (with reservation only) is at 2000. There are plenty of bicycles for everyone, with baskets and locks and some have child seats, all in working order.
At night, it is possible to come and go from the mainland, as the night line comes to Massimiliano, or stay in and listen to crickets and watch the night sky. Both are lovely. Also, there is a grocery within biking distance next to the island’s church—mind you it is closed on Sundays. There is also a local winery called Orto that you can visit or enjoy their wine in the bar in the property.
There is a road that follows the circumference of the island and the southeast corner is lined with trails that lead to the beach and a grass pathway that is lovely to walk at sunrise. Those who are looking to find the natural landscape of the Venetian Lagoon will most likely want to stay for more than a day. And those who are looking for sanctuary and retreat could stay for a week if not longer.
I would have loved to have tried their homemade vegetable lasagna on Saturday but I did not make a reservation. Next time, I will be sure to send them a message ahead of time asking for dinner reservations.

Pleasant
Just manager, he was very nice. he provided pick and drop from water taxi station, the breakfast was very good but there wasn’t refill in case you reached middle of the breakfast timing
The location was very bad, very far from Grand canal and nothing there to view. The property has no air conditioning and Fan was too noisy, be careful while taking shower because water can outside the room

Wonderful
We loved the setting outside of the loud city. Enjoying the nights on a quiet island in a cozy hotel. Staff surprised us by offering a free ride at the end of our stay to shorten a pretty lengthy but beautiful walk go a nearby vaporetto. First night was already amazing, the AC nearly instantly chilled our room to help us assimilate to the heat. The views on our balcony were amazing. Breakfast served fresh, pastries made every morning surprised us positively. Daily variety of breakfasts, even though mainly sweet, was just fantastic, especially the coffee made fresh to order. At the end of our stay we finally had time to check around the hotel, and we were glad we did, because we were greeted with amazing fresh pizza out of the kiln, not only cheaper than any where else in Venice but so full of beautiful aroma and taste, we should've eaten our dinners there alone.
Other than the mosquitos outside, there is nothing we can say we didn't like about our stay.

Wonderful
The staff at Il Lato Azzurro were wonderful. They all were very friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony in our room was lovely and we took advantage of the bikes to take a ride around the area. It was nice to get away from the crowds in Venice and the island of Sant' Erasmo is beautiful and peaceful.
Not the fault of the hotel, but the water bus several times left ahead of schedule and once even though we were only about 30 seconds away took off without us. Since it only stops at Sant' Erasmo every 45 minutes or so, it was frustrating to miss the bus by seconds and have to wait 45 minutes till the next one.

Comfortable and spacious rooms, quiet calming location and very friendly and helpful staff. They even upgraded us to a nicer room with a balcony on our last night there, which was really lovely. Riding bikes around the island and joining the artichoke festival nearby was also an unexpected highlight of our stay.
More vegetarian options for breakfast with local produce would be even nicer. Checkout at 10am felt a bit rushed :-)
