The cleanliness
Customer service was horrible, it was not near any tourist attractions like it was supposed to be, when we showered it flooded the room

Initially we were dismayed to find that Montealto is not close (walking distance) to Venice proper. However the hotel staff directed us to the no.5 bus just two minutes around the corner which takes you to Venice in 15 minutes. The location is actually in a quiet area where there are places to eat and drink and we liked it!!
I am a 6 footer and my only complaint is that the showere cubicle is definitely designed for smaller guests!! Otherwise we were happy.

The location was good, there were a lot of cafés next to the hotel. The room was quite alright but there were not any international tv channels.
There wasn't enough ventilation in the bathroom.

The dingy room; the poor state of the beds; the website shows that a shuttle is available; there was none to be had and it took hours to find out that the service did not exist. we finally took a taxi.

very convenient location to access airport and venice. room had a fridge and safe
bed was 2 single beds pushed together so moved a lot. also air conditioning was very poor even when on maximum setting.

The location was close to the airport. Staff was nice, family run but had some communication foibles.
The beds were little more than cots and the place is in need of an update. Bathroom had been recently updated but painfully small shower and I’m quite small.

Low price. Close to the airport for departure the next day.
The dining room was disgusting. Tables hadn't been bussed after other guests had breakfast. The staff waits until the breakfast period is over before clearing tables or cleaning the food serving areas. The self-serve food area was a mess and the milk was left out unrefrigerated.
The shower was tiny.

Pleasant
Great place to stay for the night after landing very late (11 pm) and not wanting to go straight to the island of Venice. Helpful hosts, good breakfast, very close to the bus stops leading either to downtown Mestre (worth it!) or to Venice. Great sound treat during a heavy rainfall, lying on the top floor under the (metal?) roof
