Incredible location at a very well appointed, comfortable, small hotel with a friendly staff.
Breakfast was good quality but not as opulent as some, but I must admit it doesn't really need to be - I had just become used to fresh eggs, bacon, and other hot entrees that are truly unnecessary with Venice right outside the door!

We had a lovely stay at Ca' Formenta. Our room was upgraded because we had asked for a crib and had been given instead an extra bed and a room with a view.
Nice breakfast: not a big selection, but will fuel you up for the day.
Would definitely recommend, especially if you have young kids; it is relatively easy to move around, especially with a stroller, since there are not so many canals around.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel has exceptional location, very close to the centre of Venice but at the same time aside of the main touristic routes. I loved the room design, the bed was very comfortable, everything was perfect. Breakfast was nice and absolutely sufficient to start the day. I asked for a good chamber as we had a special occasion to enjoy these days, and the hotel accommodated us to the suit with a bath tub (perfect for Venice in December) and with a fantastic view to the lagoone, so that we could hear the sea sounds during the night. So it was a total joy, and we are very grateful.

The location was excellent. We were there for the Biennale. The hotel is located right between Giardini and Arsenale. The woman at the front desk, Elena was extremely helpful. She recommended two excellent restaurants:
Pizzeria dai Fioi, walking distance and they serve much more than pizza. The pizza, salad, and pasta were a cut above the usual (which is good everywhere!) and surprisingly good value. It had a young vibe instead of the usual tourist feel.

We came to Venice on our honeymoon and wanted a place that’s close enough to the action, but still quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep — and this hotel was exactly that. It’s just a bit outside the main tourist chaos, but still super close to everything. In the evening, you can enjoy a peaceful walk without crowds, and there’s a vaporetto stop (Aquabaretto) just 3 minutes away that takes you to St. Mark’s Square in about 5 minutes.
The room was big, fresh, beautifully decorated, and the mattress was honestly amazing. We slept like babies!
Breakfast was great too: tasty and filling. Even though we stayed in peak season (mid-July), the neighborhood felt calm and cozy. There’s a SPAR grocery store 5 minutes away, perfect for picking up fruit or snacks.
One of our favorite parts was the private veranda just outside our room. It opened up to a quiet courtyard and had a few tables: perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or having a smoke if that’s your thing. It was shaded and peaceful, with a really chill vibe, we loved hanging out there in the evenings.
And the bathtub in the room? A total treat after walking all over Venice.
There are also 5 lovely restaurants just steps away, so you’ll never go hungry. We stayed 4 nights and absolutely loved it.
It would’ve been nice to have a few basic things in the room, like a knife, wine glasses, or some cutlery. We grabbed some wine one evening and ended up drinking from plastic cups or borrowing glasses from the bar. Not a big deal, but having those small extras in the room would’ve made it even better.

Close to the sea front and vaporetto stop, and 15-minute walk to the Piazza San Marco and Bienalle gardens. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Room service also good. It is located in a calm neighborhood. I totally recommend it
Sometimes the canal behind the hotel smelled. It's quite expensive for this old and non inspiring building, but this is common in Venice.
