Very Good
Breakfast was very ordinary. No fresh fruit, packet preserved bread. The coffee was nice thou. We bought breakfast else where after we left.
breakfast, and there was a hole or split in the shower floor that the water just ran down, don't know where but the tiles had come apart , they tried to fix but old buildings tend to come apart.

Exceptional
We arrived in Trieste port and the bus we took from town took us to a bus stop directly near the hotel. We were able to check in early and the staff was very helpful. It is very convenient to visit the Miramare Castle.

The door out
No curtains in the bathroom No heating in the room Rude host Door lock not fitted well So the host yelled at me for his own diy errors when I tried to work it out him and the other staff member just made me feel to distracted to get it right by standing over me and being unpleasant The man was rude and angry Even if you put towels on the bathroom wall The main room window still shows all you do in the shower windows are everywhere no privacy Asleep at night with windows with no curtains The host is aggressive and not helpful I will be getting my bank to take back the money The price is a rip off and the bare basics are not there I also believe the old host has a dislike for people of colour he talked in a nasty entitled way at all times . The location. Is terrible to , I They should not be allowed to be a hotel

It's a vibe and has a certain character to it, parking was useful, balcony and location were quite sweet as well.
No heating in the room nor the property so, the night was actually rather cold and unpleasant.

Wonderful
Location and view were stunning! This hotel is quirky with old Italian charm. Each room has its own character and that’s part of the fun! The hosts are lovely and accommodating with welcoming smiles and willing to please.
Parking in busy times may be a challenge. The rock in the shower taking place of a drain grate was amusing. Need to drive into Trieste for more restaurant choices.

It was very cold in the room, everything is old, not so clean, and we didn't have worm water. Breakfast is poor.

The location is really nice, with the sea very close and good parking conditions. The staff is nice.
The rooms are in need of deep refurbishment. The door doesn't have a real lock (a pass-par-tout key is given, meaning every guest can open every room at any time. The toilet had new tiles sticked cheaply on the top of existing ones. No air-conditioning. Overall a business that is neither maintained nor the owner is actively investing into since decades. No lift available. Heavy smell of "spirals" burned to keep mosquitos away (rather than using mosquitos nets).

Wonderful
The place has a charm. It's been our second time to stay here on our way back from another vacation. It has an excellent location, just a few hundred meters from Miramare Castle, a private beach is just a few steps away. Even though the hotel needs some refurbishment here and there but because its old charm and mystery, staying here is a true experience. The business is run by a family, very nice people. If you look for a 5 star comfort with 5 star facilities, this hotel should not be your primary choice but if you look for a truly unique experience with a wonderful view and excellent dinner to the sea, then you won't regret to stay here.

Pleasant
The place is basically in the gate of Miramare Castle. I like the style of the whole building, very eclectic and lovely. Spectacular view from the room and the restaurant. The owner and waiter didn't speak English but was welcoming and helpful. The bust stop is just a few steps away, line 6 will take you to the centre of Trieste in ~20 minutes. Free parking next to the bust stop and along the pier.
The room was poorly equipped: no fridge, no AC (I'm fine without it but if you are used to it, expect some heat), not even a cup or mug. The bed was very squeaky, the bathroom has not been deep cleaned in years (clogged drains) so it might overflow if you shower too long. The quantity of breakfast changes by day: one day you get some cold cuts, the next you might not.
