The location was convenient and communication with the hotel was easy and responsive.
There is no parking at the hotel, even though it is listed as available on Booking. The nearest parking is about 700 meters away, costs €14 per day, and has a very narrow, difficult ramp. The pillows were uncomfortable, and the light from the fridge door was disturbing at night.

Well located, excellent value, friendly and responsive hosts. Perfect for couples or solo travelers. Breakfast was nice and included lots of fresh fruit. I asked to check out a half an hour later, but that same morning, and they immediately agreed.
There are shared bathrooms, but not by that many people — they were clean and always open when I needed them. I don’t mind this at all and helps make it a great value.

Good accommodation, fair price. The shared bathrooms were very clean. Owners were nice, and breakfast very decent. Location is within walking distance from the main attractions in Trieste, and very close to the train station as well.

The location was very convenient for the station and the city. The breakfast was good, the coffee was excellent. And the installations were clean.
The bed was a little uncomfortable, the mattress was sagging a bit in the middle.

Some 10min walk from downtown and from enormous parking space next to the port, you can find this accommodation. At first site maybe not recognizable easily from the street, but after getting the exact building number and keys of the room and main entrance, very easy to find the way back after the tour around the city. Owners even though not speaking English language fluently were able to communicate with us and explain everything regarding our stay. Room was very clean and big and even though you are allocated almost in the downtown of the Trieste, you are not hearing any outside noise due to the great sound isolation of the windows. However, total effect was not reached as all sound from the floor upstairs and running kind around can be heard easily from the ceiling. Both bathrooms even thought are not part of the rooms were very clean all the time. Breakfast was very refreshing and provided more than enough energy for the morning walks. WiFi was more than sufficient during our stay. In general, it met our expectations.

Felt unsafe and was out of the way even though we had paid we decided to relocate to a safer option the entrance smelt very stale though it had been mopped but with a dirty damp mop

It was a very pleasant stay. Note that the whole commodity equals one floor of a nice old building. Breakfast was very personal :) , a continental breakfast with enough diversity to please through a stay of four mornings. The rooms were nice, clean and presented a nice athmosphere of an italian harbour town. There is a coffee machine in the floor, free for everyone to use. Pricing was fair. We found the location of B&B Empire 1970 very central, our places of interest were easily reachable by foot (except Miamare Castle, but Trieste offers excellent public transportation). So if you are searching for an affordable and nice accomodation in Trieste for a few nights - look no further, B&B Empire 1970 has it all.
