The hospitality of the owners Geatano & Francesca as well as their friends Monica and the lovely gentleman who took us to wine tasting is incredible.
We arrived and got collected from the station, we had a fabulous Pizza night followed by a traditional Tuscan vegetarian feast the next. The villa is isolated so ideally you do need a car, but the host was happy to go to the shops and collect stuff we needed and then you pay back in cash.
The pool area was stunning with the views, we went in September so a little cold but during hot months it must be even better.
There is a lovely black and white cat and a little dog who are the owners pets but they hang around the yard and sometimes come inside the villa if you call them. We love animals so this wasn't a problem
The host did a cooking class for us - and continuously catered for us as we were all vegetarian. We made the most delicious Ravioli and Tiramisu.
Lastly, the villa is spacious with beautiful grounds, the host is on site but leaves you in peace unless you need something. The host also makes his own wine, olive oil and sauces which you get to sample. Google translate was needed as we don't speak any Italian, but we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived at the train station.
There was a mix up with a bottle of wine when we arrived but this was settled with the host in a very polite manner.
The location was slightly rural to not have a car but for us this was a time to sit in the house and it's grounds and relax
The mosquitos by the pool were relentless when trying to enjoy the sunset in the Jacuzzi - maybe some insect repelling plants would be helpful?.
The house had citronella candles all around which were a massive help.
We are already planning another visit, this time with a car and armed with mosquito repellent sprays, it was amazing and unforgettable.
Booking this villa you will never experience hospitality quite like this, and have a memorable relaxing experience. We would always recommend here.

The host Gaetano was so helpful and an amazing cook, his dinner on the first night was a local Tuscan taste sensation and so plentiful, including the wine he makes. Everything was perfect, the view from the pool was terrific, the villa was cool and all the details were covered, including recommendations for places to eat and drink and to go and see. We could not imagine better hosts

The House was located in a beautiful place on top of a hill. The house was roomy and warm and very clean. The beautiful veranda was welcoming. The pool was cleaned every night and we went for a swim in the morning in very clean and lovely pool. The best of all was the kind and very friendly hosts, Gaetano and his wife. We arrived really late and they had prepared dinner for us which was delicious. The kindness and warmth of the hosts has touched us immensely. We will definitely come back again. We regret that we didnt book more days and couldnt book more days as it already was booked. The view from the pool was like a dream

We had a wonderful time at Villa Lolu, it exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. The only problem we had is that we only booked one week, we would have loved to stay longer :-) Gaetano is an outstanding host, he is very responsive and provided us with delicious homemade food many times and some nice vine. I can highly recommend his peaceful villa.

We have just come back from a week in Villa Lolu celebrating our parents 60th birthdays where we have had the most fantastic and memorable time. The villa itself is the most beautiful place we have stayed at with stunning gardens, a great pool area and incredible views. We did not think it was possible but it is more beautiful than the photos! All of the bedrooms are spacious, very comfortable and the whole villa stayed nice and cool. The outside dining and cooking areas made for lovely breakfasts and evenings together too. The villa is extremely well equipped with plenty of cooking utensils, lots of ingredients, tea, coffee etc and also lots of cleaning products. What makes this place special though are the hosts Gaetano and his wife Francesca. From the moment we arrived they welcomed us into their family and the Tuscan way of life with open arms. We were greeted with lots of home made wine by Gaetano and a lovely lady called Monica who translates to English and later that evening, Gaetano brought around some delicious homemade food and more of his wine.
Four of us did a cooking class with Gaetano and Monica which was just fantastic and we highly recommend doing! After cooking, we all sat together with his family eating and drinking and then some more drinking! It was wonderful and a night we will remember forever.
From before we arrived at Villa Lolu until the minute we left, Gaetano could not have been more helpful, we communicated via WhatsApp and he answered all of our questions no matter the time of day. He even gave us bottles of his wine to take home and made espressos for us at 6am before we left.
We will definitely be returning to this beautiful place someday.

Our stay at Villa Lol with our hosts Gaetano and Francesca exceeded our expectations! We were even thinking about leaving a bad review, so no one else could find this hidden gem. ;-) The villa is spacious, lovely decorated and cozy. You can find the pool just a few stairs up above the house and those few steps are really worth their effort! The view is amazing and we loved to hang out there! The villa is located just 40min away from Florence, a little more than 2 hours from Rome and 1.5 hours to the sea. There's plenty small towns around and the distance to the bigger cities is good if you want to do a day trip. The highlight of Villa Lol is the hospitality of Gaetano & Francesca. It felt like arriving home! They offered to prepare food, which was incredible, and their homemade wine is delicious as well! Unfortunately Gaetano does not speak English, but this was not a problem. Although we had to use translation apps, he is really well prepared through a live translation app he used, when we were not able to figure out what he meant through our Spanish, French and Latin knowledge. Communication through WhatsApp worked also perfectly. We all just loved it there and will definitely come back!
We didn't like that we don't speak Italian as it would have been even more fun being able to have a proper conversation. :-)
