First of all the location of the hotel - it is very close to main points of interest - Spanish Steps, Berberino Gallery, Via del Cosrso, etc. From the first minutes you feel personal and genuine warm attention to you as a guest, with all staff attend you with a smile and positive vibes. It was feeling like family to us, providing I am travelling with 8.y.o son who was feeling just excited although the hotel has very strong feeling of grand palace and history. We had nice activities in the hotel, which are considered to be more like old-money style - Afternoon Tea, Sobrage, and Luxury SPA treatments, but main applauds go to the food and gastronomical experience in the hotel, from breakfast (special stars go to bakery corner) to the restaurant themself. We had two excursions while in Rome, golf-car one which we particularly liked, and Vatican visit which was a bit not what we expected but still hotel concierge was extremely attentive to everything which was under their control. Just to mention - the hotel appearance and maintenance, and quality of finishing and style - is just state of the art. We would definitely return.

Very friendly staff and old world style. Nicely appointed rooms and bathrooms. Housekeeping was very attentive.
I would prefer more amenities. A dedicated spa with a pool and hot tub. A gym with more equipment. Large enough for a few more weightlifting machines.

Good
The extraordinary service from the doormen, butler service, in-room service, front desk, and concierge. They made sure we were satisfied and addressed any concerns we had quickly and over and beyond. I only had a small issue with housekeeping and they showered us with gifts that were not necessary but appreciated. The constant attention to our needs as we entered the building and when we left.
The hostess for the restaurant is not genuine in how she treats guest. When I arrive at any hotel, I orient myself and look around on my own. I did it here although the front desk did a small "tour" with us when we arrived. As my husband and I stepped up to the restaurant area, she quickly approached me as if we were out of place. I told her we had just arrived and I wanted to look around. I pointed out the ball room and she showed me the party rooms and "library area". Afterwards, I thanked her and we headed to our room. She followed us to the elevator and then asked me what our room number was. Where do they behave this way?! I told her we had just arrived. Did she assume we didn't belong because we didn't look like others who stayed there?
Then, two days later, my husband and I walked over to the library area and one of the attendants was coming towards me but I changed my mind and we left but before we could return to the restaurant area, the "library" attendant ran to the same restaurant hostess and was pointing at us and they were laughing. It's obvious the hostess must have been sharing her cultural, judgmental ignorance with others with the same character flaw. My recommendation is to make sure she and others understand judging others from the outside is not good for the business. Anyone who stays at this hotel obviously belongs. If I return to Rome, I won't stay here.
I also did not like how housekeeping could not just stick to cleaning and not moving or taking items that didn't belong to the hotel. I had my shoe inserts and personal washcloths taken and both were placed on the counter and end table instead of the floor. The hotel gave us gifts that included wooden shoe inserts, personally engraved washcloths, and a free appetizer to the restaurant I wasn't going to visit because of the judgmental hostess.
