At the reception we were greeted with drinks and useful info on what to see in the area, alongside tips on getting there, and good places to eat at, the kind where the Romans go.
The room itself kept up with the charm of the Aventine, making the stay there both pleasant and a temptation for an indoor photo shoot.
The location is in a romantic and quiet area. Close to a neighborhood where the food is great, be it a restaurant or a street food vendor, and a couple of popular landmarks.
As for the breakfast, while the same everyday, the selection was something to try of each and get filled in doing so.
Overall, it's the sort of stay I have in mind to rebook, if available.

Hotel San Anselmo will be my go to hotel in Rome. It is orgeous. The rooms are beautiful, breakfast amazing and staff very friendly. I also love the area. it is a 15-20 minute walk to major sights but the neighborhood is quiet and just beautiful. Highly recommend!

Our room was nicely decorated.
Beautiful view from window. Steps away from the green keyhole door.
Walking distance to main road to get hop on/hop off bus and Maximus Colosseum.
Breakfast was excellent.
Bathroom a bit small and shower handle hard to understand.

Wonderful
The property was very quaint, and exceptionally clean. It is in a quiet part of Rome, so you will need transportation to go into the heart of Rome for excursions. It sits at the top of a hill, so if you walk anywhere, just be aware it will be a bit strenuous.
The decor was amazing, and the breakfast was likewise. The breakfast staff was fabulous and the food was excellent.

Good
Staff were super nice and helpful. Location was great and quiet. Rooms are absolutely beautiful. Perfect for couples!
Accessibility to public transportation is a little rough. You have to ask the front desk to turn on the AC which was weird. There are controls available from the inside, but they don't do anything unless the front desk manually allows it first. Additionally, there was random white flashes throughout the room from either some sensor or something. Woke us up a couple of times, and this happened a lot. (Not cars or anything, the light came from inside the room and our window was completely covered by their awesome blackout curtains.) Also checkout is at 12 which is great because it is late, but they were a little pushy at around 11. I had 2 separate incidents where they just tapped to enter to clean my room for the next guest and I hadn't even left/checked out yet.

Great location, quiet, parrots flying around. Orange trees in the breakfast area. Playful interior mimicking 15 century palazzo style. Nice local restaurants and supermarkets are 5 minute walk. Metro station is 6 minute walk. There’s taxi parked near the pyramid metro station.
Just a bit far from the major sites: it is both advantage and at times a drawback. You need to go up a beautiful sloping street when coming back from sightseeing trips. Nobody’s fault.

Very Good
Felt like a special secret garden location - a real gem.
Location was a bit of a walk … 20minutes to get into the city which was very doable as long as you have good shoes.

Very helpful staff. Came outside to give me my things that I had left on the front desk. Superb breakfast buffet. Toiletries were included!
It's at the top of the Aventine Hill. We had an economy room. The bathroom was so small that your feet went into the shower. I don't have a picture.

Exceptional
The staff and accommodations
The Italian version of AC or "air con".
Theoretically, 80°F is less than 96° outside but it could hardly be deemed relaxing or providing any relief from the extreme Roman heat

Wonderful
Very pleasant hotel in a good location on the Aventine. The staff was efficient and helpful.
The furniture and shower facilities could use some upgrading and better cleaning and maintenance.
