Exceptional
We loved above all the very attentive staff, paying attention to every detail to please guests. Very good food and excellent service generally. Excellent location too, this is the area of embassies close to the Borghese Palace.

Good
Location magnificent, Staff outstanding and extremely helpful on all levels from house keeping, concierge, to Reception.
The Spa, the pool, absolutely incredible
The new refurbishment is a total catastrophe. Hotel lost its soul, lost all the characteristics that made it a pure class hotel.
The renovated rooms are unpractical, look like a hospital room with no character, and cheap material has been clearly used for this renovation.
Even the TV doesn't permit you to switch languages (all other hotels in Italy that use SKY have that option)....Seriously, eventhough many times i have pointed this out but it seems they don't care that foreign tourists do not speak Italian. When I come i always ask the non refurbished rooms as they have more class, bigger bath. My Deluxe Room on 4th floor didn't even have a bath.
What a shame....

Very Poor
Great location. Impressive decor inside
Major construction and refurbishment was taking place including jack hammers all day. Staff were economical with their when questioned. Told us it only was sanctioned a few days ago. We found out it’s been ongoing for a year. Hotel should have notified us when we booked so we could have made an informed choice to stay. The staff have their hands tied to deceive the guests. Staff tried to help by upgrading room and knocked off the breakfast charge. We left a day early and shortened our vacation.

Pleasant
Swimming pool and spa beautiful.
Breakfast selection poor, especially for vegetarians.
Building work woke us up at 8.30 on the 1st morning. I mentioned this to the reception staff, but they didn't offer to move us, they simply said they would ask the builders to start at 9.30 the next day! However the builders started at 8.15 the next day, even earlier! This is totally unacceptable and we were not given any notice of this!

Fair
The pool was nice. The location was good if you want to be near the Borghese Park.
The breakfast was basic. It just about covered all choices, but anything more than that and you had to pay from a separate menu. For example, if you wanted poached eggs, pancakes, granola with yoghurt, or smoothies. Normally, all of these items are free in a good 5 Star hotel. The coffee was not good. The staff at reception, some of them, had a really arrogant approach. Just rude! I was kept awake until 3 am by footballers staying in the room above me, playing football in their room or the corridor. Rather than apologise for my interrupted night, one of them said, there was no noise followed by the other receptionist who said, it's the guests. Nothing we can do. Not, I'm really sorry about your night!! No apology, from them. However, the cleaners did apologise. The room was cold! I had to keep asking reception to turn off the air conditioning. There was no kettle for making hot drinks as with other hotels. The bed was not that comfortable and the fridge in the room made a humming sound all night. Not forgetting the stand up lamp which flickered on and off at 3am one night... perhaps rattled by the footballers! Actually, I couldn't wait to go home. Shame really, I've had more pleasant stays in Rome at other hotels. Be sure to ask the taxi driver for an approx cost to the airport on your way home. Mine, turned the meter off at 40Euros when I was about 10 minutes drive and then charged me 75 Euros.

Air conditioning had been switched off since Italians think 21’c is winter!

Good
Location is great
Service was really good
The property is somewhat démodé without being vintage
Anachronistic to have the shower in the bathtub, so small as to make it uncomfortable for the price paid

Wonderful
Loved the cleanliness. The hotel literally smells with it. Loved the spa area. Although it is slightly dated and requires redecoration, the quality of the jacuzzi area is excellent. The water was perfect temperature. Amazing.
A bit of a glitch with room service. Didn't appreciate there is no tea kettles in the room, hence, not possible to make some tea, need to call room service which is 1) expensive (24 euros for tea) 2) not great service.
